I am not really fond of oral recitations particularly those impromptu oral recitations. I would prefer taking a written quiz than having oral recitations. Impromptu speech is really one of my weaknesses. Surprise oral recitations make me feel so nervous. Announced recitations are quite better though because I am able to study beforehand. But still I would prefer a written quiz whether announced or unannounced because I won't have butterflies in my stomach.

As if I have a choice. In law school, every meeting is an oral recitation day. Haha! I've gotten used to it.

me too when i was at school i never liked oral recitations. generally this like or dislike is the result of your skill. For example If you are very good at english language, you will be very eager everytime to do an english oral recitation. and you dislike it because you lack the skill. I am saying so because me too i never like doing english oral recitations because i didnt have fluent english but however i loved to do oral recitation in Hindi language because I am master in speaking and writing hindi language. As you can see like dislike depends on your skills.

I like oral recitations, I like unannounced oral recitations better. I like oral recitations because generally, I'm a person who loves to talk. Also, it let's me explain something that I can't thoroughly remember. Speaking helps me jog my memory and all the information comes flooding in, as opposed to a written quiz where i'm required to give specific answers and give the answers in just a few seconds. Also stuttering and failing to answer in unannounced oral recitations are better that being like that in announced ones. Atleast you ave an excuse as to why you can't answer.
