if your looking for good laptop then here are the config:
ram should be 4 gb or more (more ram, program would run smoothly)
graphic card is must (for games)
cpu process more than 3 GHz (best process will give you better performance)
windows 7 (i won't prefer vista)
hard disk space of 500 GB or more (depends on your needs)
thats all i hope i haven't missed any thing.

it should be branded like ati or nvidia, if not specified or names as intel graphic card then it is on board and not very good specially for gaming purposes.
for spec i think now they come out to 1gb

it depends on process company, if you buy nvidia then in build default graphic is 512 and is sufficient to play games. for intel you need to buy graphic, if you prefer playing games on pc then make it 512 mb, more will be better if you want to play games like nfs.

i dont remember the model number but there is one laptop from the brand msi it is a gaming pc and best.
if you want a coustmized laptop then the minimym requirements are - 500gb harddisk, 3 gb ram, with 1 gb gfx card it will work for all your needs.
i would recommend you go for gaming laptops they are quite faster.
