I read somewhere (don't ask me where, because I don't remember!) that you should have at least $1000 very easily accessible, so I have that on a savings account that I can withdraw the money from instantly. And then I have 3 months worth of salary in another account, that takes a bit longer to withdraw from. I think of both those accounts as my emergency accounts.

I have so many bills right now to pay that I cannot keep any money for that. I have around 1200 dollars a month in bills. This consists of my rent and my student loan bills. I wish I could save more money but its nearly impossible at the moment. If I work harder at my online sites Im sure I could save a little though. If you would like you can check out my blog for sites I use to earn. If you like it you can become a follower to it since its constantly changing with new sites and new information. Have a great day.

It depends on what you think an 'emergency' is? If it's finding yourself out of work and not being able to pay the bills then keep enough money to cover the bills for a month or two. I keep enough to pay bills for a couple of months and a seperate small amount to cover the excess on my car in case I get hit or need to claim off my insurance.
