For those who are not aware of our weekend adventure, we participated in two national dog shows. It was our first experience in the dog show ring, as Binne is only 9 months old. I was so excited, and I had a lot of worries about how Binne would behave in the ring.
You may say this discussion starts a little late, because it's already wendesday, but I didn't have any picture from the two dog shows to upload. Tavi was supposed to take photos while we were in the ring, but he was so excited, so he forgot to use the camera. On Sunday he took some photos, but we're either in move or with our back at the camera. I waited for a friend to e-mail me the photos she took but they're not too good either. You can see the one I uploaded here... Enough with the pictures.
So, we won in both days!
Binne has now two RPJ titles, she needs only one more RPJ title to become a national youth champion. She also won the Best of Breed title in both shows.
Despite my worries, she was rather shy in the ring, she didn't want to 'talk' to the judge. She walk nicely and she stayed quietly during the judging. I'm proud of her.
We all enjoyed our weekend, although it was pretty tiring. I don't think Binne will have a long show dog career. After she win her national youth champion, we won't participate in dog shows. Or if we participate, it will be only as spectators.
So, if you have any dog show experiences, feel free to share it here.

Thank you, thank you! Tell me about excitement!
RPJ stands for Romanian Prime Junior. In Binne's case, it means the best female from the Airedale youth class.
It's going to be more difficult to get the third one, because we will meet more beautiful Airedales in an international dog show than in a national dog show. Not that she's not pretty, but the preparing of an Airedale coat for a show is quite demanding. I hope I can get her coat in good shape for the 10th of Octomber, when we will participate in the international dog show from Arad.

I am sure by now you know everything about getting her coat to look the best. SO just keep it up and I will be on the edge of my seat waiting for the next round..:)

Thank you for your encouragement. I know a lot about how an Airedale coat should look. But this is the first time when I actually prepare it for a show. I was a little afraid but the judge from the Saturday show said he likes how Binne's coat looks. You can imagine how proud his comment made me. But in three weeks the hair grows and I have to be sure I mantain it in good shape.

Of course dogs like the attention they get. And they like being with their masters, no matter where they go.
But I am not so sure if dogs love dog shows. It's quite tiring for the dog, because she has to stay awake for the whole day. Maybe if she could rest between the breed judging and the Best of Group judging, she would be more happy at the end of the day. But Binne didn't want to rest, she wanted to see everything around.

My only reward is the glory and the judges' appreciation for Binne's training and grooming. But all the credit for the conformation goes to the breeder and to her work for many years.
I didn't understand, what is the video that you're talking about? The one with the Airedale grooming?

Yes, Binne is cute, she's so lovable, isn't she?
I was once in the same situation as you. But after I had finished my studies I got a job and I started to live by myself. In short time I bought my first dog, Nera.
I'm sure you'll be able to have a dog of your own once, just be patient. Until then, you have time to learn about dogs, so when the time comes, you will know everything a responsible dog owner should know.
