Do you want to live to be one hundred?

Why or why not? I guess it depends on the quality of life I am living those last years. If I am bed ridden, unable to see or do anything for myself, I would just assume stop living. If I am still going strong, able to do and see things, I would love to pass the hundred year mark. What are your thoughts on this?

I agree, much depends on our state of health. What is quantity of life without quality of life? Both go hand in hand. However the Bible does speak of everlasting life in health and youth and vigor and in a world where there is no sickness, no lack. Where there is peace and love. That now is very appealing!

I feel the same way as you. If I would be healthy, I would love to, but if I had to be sick or have other issues, then maybe not. It is a more complicated question that you think at first, I think!

Like most things in our lives, quality over quantity.

If there are still many good things I can do, and at least I've got 50% health, and I do not have lots of problems, that will be okay for me to live that long. But, I don't want to live until 100 if I cannot do anything, being sick the whole day, and most importantly, bothering other people. I consider letting myself go if my responsibility and task in my life are complete.

I remember that my grandmother did not know who she was, let alone anyone else. She just laid in bed, or was moved to sitting in a chair where she was propped up to watch TV. She had an excellent caregiver, who fed her well and interesting foods, made sure she stayed clean, kept the house. Virginija also read to her. Because my grandmother no longer responded, sometimes V would read to my grandmother in lithuanian.

I would love to yes. I have two daughters and I want to be around for as long as possible to help them and watch them grow and bloom.

I don't want to live beyond 70 years old because I don't want to be a burden to my family. I guess, I will be having enough of life when I reach 70. ^.^

It depends on my life at that point. I would rather live to be 70 and have a good quality of life, see my family grow up and still be in relatively good health, rather than 100, frail and outlive my friends and family.

My husbands grandmother is in her early 80's but is going strong. she still cross country ski's. She does not enjoy traveling as much as she used to, but comes to visit my house once or twice a year. She keeps up with my little one as well. She is the president of the book club and dictates to the senior citizen director what activities the seniors really want to do. She is what we would call a spitfire.

No way!!! Well maybe, if i wasn't already full of arthritis at the young age of 38!! I can't imagine how much pain I would be in if I lived to be 100!

I would love to live to an old age, but I'm not sure if I want to live to be 100 years old. I'm not sure if this is something that I want.

Sure , I would love to live to be a hundred if our current society can substain it's self for that long.I would like to see how technology evolves in the future and what kind of computers and how the internet will be by then.Time travel, teleportation , outside travel of our solar system and virtual reality could all be invented by the year 2100 or so.I will be 113 by then but it is possible i could live that long with modern medicine and medical treatments and body part replacement.Yup i sure hope that this 2012 nonsence is wrong so i can live till the next century.

We have the same view with regards to living that long. I mean, what's the point of living up to 100 if you can't do anything but lie in the bed all day and just wait to be fed or cleaned? I don't want to see my loved ones be burdened with me everyday. I think in this time, reaching 70 years old is a great achievement in itself, considering the various illnesses that are rampant this time and also the slowly deteriorating lifestyle a lot of people are having right now.

Absolutely. I want a long and healthy life. Living to be 100 years old would be a blessing. I'm not afraid at all about aging. It's nature and it's beautiful. The only scary thing about living to be 100 is not being able to do things by myself and having to depend on other people to do things for me. Other than that, I hope to live to 100 years old. To be able to see things and tell people about it years later would be great. Like being alive during an important event in history!

I want to live to whatever age my body will allow me to live to. I will live my life to it's fullest and when it is my time to go I will leave this earth. I don't really think its all about living to be 100 or a certain age, its living your life for you and others.
