do you know that SM supermalls here in the philippines have this kinds of movies where we could watch for ten pesos? well, actually,it was fifteen pesos because of taxes.but those movies are not new ones, but the advantage of it is,you can watch those old movies in the big screen. perfect time when you have nothing to do and you just have to pass the time.might as well watch a movie, right?
do you know how we will know what movie are available and when will this offer would have in SM branches near us?
i'd really appreciate if you'll let us all know all about this...

Really?? are there such cinemas around in the philippines?? haha =D We used to have it here too, but it's being teared down as it's simply too old.. lol =D I used to watch in those cinemas too, because of the cheap pricing.. haha =D However, we pay for quality right?? As such, we end up with wooden seats with some leather cushions, and sub standard air conditioning.. lol =D
But now it's being torn down, i'm back to those superior cinemas again, and of course, more expensive.. haha =D

oh? you have cheaper films to watch also there?
let me tell you,my friend,we have this in our country but it is still in the malls where there are still comfortable seats and air conditioned cinemas.not like what you have said. it's just that it's nice thing for them to put up a promo where more poor people can afford to watch in big screens. isn't it nice to watch the old movies again? i really loved this thing! well,it depends also on the story of the film itself. though i haven't watched with this promo,i still look forward to experience this.

hi vi,
this is kinda new to me. hehe i haven't seen this kind of promo from sm cinemas the only time that i was able to watch a movie in SM for just 5 or 10 is when someone gave me a free movie ticket. its a free ticket but we have to pay for taxes. ho i wish i could chance upon this $10 peso movie in SM. because watching movies no is really expensive, that's why i don't go to cinema now unless its free. hehe

yeah, because really i haven't seen such promos specially in SM Cinemas. But i have experienced watching a movie in SM for just 50 pesos but that was some 4 or 5 years ago in Cagayan de Oro. I am happy with that because that time as compared to other SM cinema like in Cebu and Manila, its a lot cheaper.
i as able to have free movie tickets because when i as working in the bank before, we have a client who happens to work in viva. but the movie tickets that he gave are not those popular movies but still a good one.

oh? 50 pesos is quite a thrift budget, and i haven't seen such promo like that.if i do,it's in my university back then when i was in college.we had this film showing and i guess it's around 50 pesos.i still can remember i have watched it by myself, because my classmates don't want to watch.it was my first and last time to watch movie alone, lol! it was not fun watching alone, really!
wow,at least you have experienced having a free movie ticket because of your work.

hello ck, well, what can i say,i think it's the second time you have heard something new from me,hehe nice that we can learn from each other here.
oh,i haven't experienced having free movie tickets.but i always been treated before by my friends who used to have movie dates with me.
i don't know if provincial SM branches would really promote such promos.
i haven't heard such in provincial areas. luckily,i lived in a city where such promos are available.though i haven't tried to watch such kind of promos.
i still hope i could get a chance to see and watch one.

oh,would you mind tell me what SM branch you have near you?
yes,of course,it will be patronized by most filipino poor people cause of it's cheaper price.but let me tell you most of the films is old ones, but i know there are films also which are great ones to watch and it is till better to patronize them. i know,it's only seasonal and they don't always have it.i am not sure in provincial areas if they avail that promo.

how come i haven't heard of that thing before? there are 3 SM branches from where i am and none of those, not even once, offered the Php15 old movies like you were saying. i wish they really did so we can do some catching up on movies we missed on the big screen but i don't think they would profit if they do that. besides maintenance, rental fees, and such would be too much to handle. but thanks to your post, i'll try look for one :)

hello nik, where are you in the philippines? and what SM branches are near to you?
i am near to SM marikina and i have seen some movies there showing at 15 pesos but that was last 3-5 months ago,i guess. and i have not visited the mall eversince.
but i have read some articles or blogs about it saying that there have seen such in SM manila and san lazaro. and my sister was near to SM centerpoint and just last two weeks i guess she and her friends just watched there, twice. it was fright night and i forgot the other one. but they watched in different weeks.
i wonder how we will know the movies and schedules of it,for us to watch for cheaper prices.

really? hmmm i wonder why they don't have that here. i'm near SM Clark, Pampanga, and Marilao. if i find any sched or info about them showing on any malls near your place, i'll just send you a message.hehe :) for the mean time, i think downloading and watching movies i've missed is still the good way to fill in a boring Sunday.

haha,that was a nice one,my dear!
yeah,i'll wait for your message huh?..
i thought you live near me,hehe. but it's okay. oh,you are in pampanga?
i have relatives who lives there.and we do go there sometime.
i have seen that branch in pampanga though we have arrived too early that time that's why we didn't get in there.it wasn't our purpose there anyway.
we just had our reunion back then at our aunt's house there at pampanga.
you do download movies from the internet? please do tell me what sites are you visiting to watch online.i haven't found sites which can load faster and clear quality content.

hmmm...i don't think most of them have upgraded to 3D cinemas.
it's been a long time since i watched a movie in SM supermalls.but recently,i just learned from my sister that she and her friends watched films with this kind of promos. they ahve watched it in SM Sta. Mesa.
i guess it's just seasonal when it is happening and they don't always have this every week. it just depends on them if they would put some promos like this or not.and if you happen to see one, make sure you'll take part of it cause it's really nice experience watching movies for only 15 pesos in a big screen.

hello eshaan, well for now i think the conversion now is 45 pesos(PHP)= 1 USD.
it's nice to see how we can make use of those promos which are very affordable with the feeling of watching old movies again in the big screen.
i think not all people would love this idea, but i think it also depends on the movie.you know when my sister and her friends watched in this promo, they have seen so many people take in line just to watch and be part of this promo.you see,it was a kind of making the cinema useful still when there are not enough movies to watch.it's good that SM supermalls thought of this idea.helps a lot of poor people to experience watching in abig screen.specailly nowadays cause its too expensive to buy movie tickets, the regular price if i am not mistaken,it would be around 170 pesos or sometimes 200 pesos itself, means 4.54 USD

I watch movies for the experience and for its story , because sometimes I really get curious about the movie's plot..... doesn't matter whether old or new. well i sure hope it'll be available here soon...someday somehow hehe

i love the atmosphere there.i have visited baguio's botanical garden and i loved it! i haven't gone to SM baguio. it was such a very long time since i have gone to baguio either.and i don't know if there's an Sm branch there that time.
well,i do hope you'll also get the chance to experience watching movies in cheaper prices.that's what we,filipinos like.to be bale to patronize cheaper prices...

Hello Annavi,
I WON'T BELIEVE IT UNTIL I SEE ONE the last time i was in Cinema, the cost of a movie ticket was only worth 45 pesos. and that was during my highschool days, now it cost time two of that amount. if there are cinemas that offers low ticket fees, that's going to be the old cinemas that has offered unpopular rated r movies.
But of course, not as low as 10Php probably higher still but lesser than 100 Pesos or almost 2 dollars. the cheapest now are pirated DVDs. just buy them because it's safe, too dangerous to go to cinemas now.
PS: I was able to research and i found one ticket on the Internet, but this was a promo from SM Manila way back Last year. some believed they did this promo because they're ain't much people watching Cinemas now at SM.

oh? 45 pesos? i never knew there was movie tickets worth that time,or maybe it's just that i don't usually go out at malls during my high school days.i just became outgoer when i went to college.and i was studying that time near the mall area.that's why we always have time to go there and spend time to watch a movie if there was enough time for us friends to bond.
so,you haven't seen such ten peso films yet?
maybe you should go out sometime.tell me if you are available and let's watch those films which are thrifty enough...
yes, films nowadays are too expensive.if i'm not mistaken it would be around P100 plus nowadays.and it's much better to watch in dvd's at home.
thanks for the picture you provided, actually i was uploading that same picture when i started this topic but then, there's an error when i do upload it.
your link was funny,boy kuripot,

oh,so you are a filipina,ddaguno?
from what province are you residing if i may ask?
i have seen in your profile you are from dubai. or you just work there?
well, regards to the cinemas in your province,it's nice to have watched two movies in a row. but of course, the comfort of the cinema is still at most.
i remember my sister who visits our province back then, she came home full of rashes because she was new to that place.she has sensitive skin though.

yes,i have heard there's always films like this in manila branch.but that branch was too far away from where we lived.and i seldom have time to go there. if i would go out and hang out in a mall,it would always be probably in nearby areas, like SM Marikina or other malls in cainta area.

hmmm... i wonder where is your place in the philippines that has new SM branch to be soon opened...
well, actually,it was sold as 15 pesos because of tax. yes,it's just nice to watch a movie in a big screen especially when you have to spend only in a cheaper price.
like you,i always wanted to watch movies,it doesn't matter if it's an old movie as long as it's a good one,i would definitely enjoy watching it,in big screen.
