It is so embarassing that nowadays, it's getting younger and younger are the smokers. It was so disgusting when i watched a 4 or 5 year old kid who was already a 'professional smoker' to be called, and the parents of the child could no longer refrain him from smoking!
Furthermore, even ladies young and old, (so disappointing that even young girls are now also addicted to smoking. As far as I know smoking does not just lead to health problems, it has also a big contribution to the global warming. Smoking is a no good habit. For me it is a form of gradual suicide.Besides the user is not the only one affected. People who are also exposed to the smoke even if they are not smoking, are also affected. There is no good in it.. and so why are still people smoke??

Our body has this process its called homeosis so once you tried using something or once you tried smoking our body will automatically look for that substance again and again..so the best thing to do is to never tried smoking coz once your into it...its really hard to avoid or to stop using it coz our body is craving for it.. so then we will see how our self control is better than the needs of our body:p

I believe that people that are exposed or used to smoke are the people that was influenced by the people around them by there peer pressure and stress..People once hooked up on this habit cant easily go out. There would be transition, a process however this is a will issue if the user I may say will pursue on the getting out from this habit..

Some people begin to smoke out of peer pressure. They want to fit in with the crowd who is smoking. they think it will make them more popular. Some people smoke because the the habit is so addictive. They don't know how to stop once they have started. it is a habit that can be hard to break.

well, i admit that i am a chain smoker since then... for me, smoking is relaxing. it is one of the ways where i can have peace of mind, stress free, and perhaps i can also have solutions to my problems. smoking is like you are massaging ur mind.

Hi linggarcia, good question you got there, there are so many reasons why a person. The person has been living with a "professional" smoker, possible imitation of actions, some people tend to smoke because it is a form of stress reduction to them and relaxation at the same time. Some people smoke because of peer pressure, socialization, or they want to belong to a group, etc. There are millions of reasons why a person smoke. It is true that secondary smoke is much harmful than the primary smoke inhaled by the smoker.

I use to smoke some years ago, it has been about twelve years since I quit. When I first started smoking I was very young, a teen. At that age you are very venerable to being influences by your friends, many of my friends were smoking. I think many people who start smoking young in life may have been influenced some by peers. Of course, then the majority of adults smoked and it was not so frowned upon. Today if you want to smoke you must stand outside as many building do not allow you to smoke inside. As an adult, I enjoyed the social aspect of smoking, sitting having a coffee and a smoke at a coffee shop with a friend, something you really can't do now, unless its a street shop and some of them don't allow it either. They also had a calming effect on me, if I was upset a smoke would always calm me down. And of course once you are hooked it is very hard to get off them
