there's no given rule that finding soul mate in the net or through chatting is prohibited, though it's not the safest and the smartest way to find a partner. As what you mention there are many fraudulent activities on the net, you may or may not talk with a real person, or at least his/her true qualities will show in just chatting. It is nice to meet and communicate with other people from other nationality on the net, it is true that you'll get a lot from learning different cultures. any way, you don;t have to look for love, let it get your way, if it's for you it will come.

Well, the best way to find something elusive is to stop looking for it at all. Forget it, abandon it, put it on a shelf, take a walk, sing, dance, surf everywhere, just do anything but stop searching for it. And be prepared for a big surprise when the unexpected happens. Just try it. Now.

Have you tried finding your soulmate in real world first? If you haven't, I suggest you do it so. That's because meeting a person in real life can be easier, and you can interact with that person directly. I do not say that finding a soulmate through virtual world aka online is bad. But you cannot get the chemistry as fast as you get it when meeting a person directly. But still, I sometimes want to find or to be found by my soulmate through internet, even a bit of hope in here. Good luck anyway!

That's just my personal opinion, but I think you shouldn't go 'looking for a soulmate' so to speak... I think then it all ends up being a little forced. I mean, just focus on meeting people but don't go with the idea that they're potential boyfriends; just enjoy talking with those people and form friendships and let things develop naturally... and who knows, maybe romantic feelings will start to appear, then :) ANd if not, at least you'll have some nice friends and the possibility to get to know people from different countries and cultures, as you said, which is very interesting and nice too. Good luck! :)
