Is it worth the time to play ANNO1777? I made some calculations

For everyone who doesn't know what ANNO1777 is: It's an webbrowser based economy and war game where you can earn real money with fighting against other members, selling different items with your companies or with just working for companies in your country. I registered there a week ago when they opened the game for USA, Canada, UK and some other european countries. I really like to play economy and strategy games and when you can earn some real money while doing this, why not? Now to the question is it worth it: You can play the game for free and just work for other companies or capture other members to earn taxes and a fighting bonus. Or you can invest and found your own companies to let other people work for you and sell the products on the market with profit. Examples: I live in Canada so I get 1 CAD for every fight I win (you can fight every 20 minutes and you win every fight right now), plus I earn 25% taxes of what my slaves earn while they belong to me. The problem is CAD is an ingame currency. To get real money you have to exchange it on the currency market to gold and then Euro (real money). So 1 CAD is 0.004 Euro at the moment (225.8CAD = 6.38gold = 1 Euro). If I work I can only work in my Country. Companies there pay approx. 3 CAD per hour at this moment. You can work 8 hour per day (you don't have to be logged in during this time). So that's 24 CAD per day more just to click on a work offer. After 5 working days in a row you get a bonus of 5 CAD too. Now Canada has not that many players right now that's why the economy there is bad. If I take an example for the US players: They earn around 5 USD per hour in New York. That's 40 USD per day for one click. 40 USD are 0.45 Euro (real money) at the moment. Just for one click per day... Problem again: your earnings depend on your "wellness". and "productivity". Both values start with 10%. So if you start to work with 10% productivity you only earn 10% of the 40 USD (0.045 real Euro). But everytime you work your productivity increases. Same with the wellness if you capture a new slave or you get taxes from your slaves. Now you can figure out if it's worth to register there if you don't want to invest. If you invest you make more money because other people work for you and you can sell the products. In short: if you are from the US you can make 0.045 Euro per day (8 hour work in game) with just a click every day and it will increase every day you worked because your productivity will increase. For all the lazy people out there 1 Euro is 1.337 USD. So you will earn 0.06 USD as minimum. I would like some inputs from people who are already playing there so I can correct the numbers when the salaries are changing in the USA, Canada or UK. PS: You can find my referalcode in my profile ;-).

No, if you agreed to work somewhere for 8 hours you can't work for someone else the next 24 hours. But you don't have to be online during this time. If you want to fight against other people and capture them as your slaves you have to wait to work. The best thing is to start working before you log off.

Ok I see I was just worried that if I logged off I would not get credited for the 8 hours of work.

Looks interesting! I tried to sign up with your referral link, but it would not let me play from my location unfortunately. Good luck with the game though, enjoy it and I hope you make some good money.

So far Poland isn't implemented in the game. They have USA, Canada, UK, Spain, Romania, Hungary, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand and Moldova.

The game is growing fast the few last days. The beginning is hard because the economy is just starting to grow in the new countries but with this amount of new members it will be soon very complex.

Thanks for the info. I'm just start playing this game and found it hard to get familiarize with the content. I believe that the game did not translate all in English. Or am I the only one seeing other language there. For starter, just continue fighting other player from your region. That can increase your balance.
