Which do you think is better for following up on a job application (at somewhere like a coffee shop/cafe or clothing store), to call or to walk in and talk?
I'm trying to get a job at a frozen yogurt place, about two minutes walk from my apartment. I can't decide if I should call back or just walk in becasue I live so close.
If you were the manager, what would you like better?

Call up and say you're keen to come and have a look at the operation with a view to working there. Ask when's convenient.
Look smart. Walk in. Sound knowledgable about frozen yoghurt. Impress.
Good luck!

I think walk in best for me because I think if were a manager then I like to call applicant for walk in. Because there are many things which you can know about applicant only by calling the applicant for walk in. I think it is a good thing to go for walk in. there are many things which is not possible to know only by a telephonic interview. So I prefer to walk in.

I think it would be better to call. I think walking in may not be good because if the place is particularly busy, or if the manager is not available to talk, it might seem as though you're not being considerate about the work duties.
Whereas if you called and the manager couldn't talk, you could just leave a voice mail, and then, he or she would get back to you when they are free.
Here is how I think of it (although I know it is not a perfect analogy): would you rather someone drop by your house, totally unexpected, or call in advance to find out when it was convenient to come by?
