Think you do not need to back up your hard drive? You might want to think about everything you might lose if it crashes. Photos, documents, the time involved to try to recover and re-install. It can be very time consuming, I created a document on how you can backup your hard drive, and or create a mirror image. The software is free, all you need is a external USB drive, you can read how to do it by clicking here to read my document and download the software. http://www.ehow.com/how_5045087_create-image-hard-drive-_backup_.html

Thanks for the info. I hope this will be very useful to all of us, especially those who are concern about sensitive data.
I myself have multiple hard drive, 3 to be exact. I split my first hard drive into two partitions, the system and the backup. I always backup my system and place it in the second partition. The second and third hard drives act as storage data, where I store photos, music, movies, and others.

This is some interesting information as so many times people never consider doing this, and then they are in trouble when something happens. I know I have lost stuff from time to time, and wished I would have done this, but now the Computer I own now has this capability as does a lot of the Newer computers if you look, but this information is great for those who don't.

Great article. I have used Drive image XML for a while, and you can also use with the free Bart PE boot disc software, with the plugin to restore the image.

I read your article and find it very useful. I am a guilty party not be backing up my valuable information of my pc. I bookmarked your page and will get to it very soon as this would a disaster for me if I lose all my information.
I tried to leave you comment over there but am still waiting for an email confirmation.
Good luck with the article as it is very helpful to many readers.
