The email I registered with mylot has been hacked! It really surprised me. I did not open that email for months and I was shocked to see that someone sent an email to bunch of people. I think, that hacker mined those email from another website and used my email to send an email to those people.
What am I gonna do now?

Can you still get into your account? All you have to do is change your email password, and whatever passwords might have been compromised.

Yeah. I have accessed my email and so I changed my passwords and the password of the secondary email connected to it. I can't believe that people are so crazy and they hacked my email. :-(

Most of the time it's hacker programs and all they are doing is using people's email accounts to send spam emails, though having access to people's accounts is obviously bad in other ways as well. I had it happen to one of my gmails recently, so I had to do the same thing. Have not had a problem since I changed my password.

I do not think that your email was hacked. The fact that you were able to access the account shows that the account was hijacked.
In a hijacking the perpetrator uses any email account obtained through various means, and spoofs the address. In this case spam emails appear to originate from the spoofed account. In reality the link given redirects to another website with the criminal's referral ID. The person is a criminal because he or she may be creating problems to the victim.
So far four of my email addresses are being spoofed. How do I know? I received spam emails from myself. i.e from the four email addresses. So far I have received three angry emails. In four cases four spam emails were sent back to me because they could not be delivered. On checking the route the culprits were identified.
To avoid hijackings try to stay clear from dubious money earning websites or on-line earning programs. Else use a different email account for these sites.

I am using yahoo mail. I have already changed the password and hopefully this won't happen again. I am glad that this email is not connected to paypal.

hello eden_shii, can you access you email account now or your password have been changed? If you can't access your account, then please change your password using password recovery as soon as possible so that it won't be misused again. And these days, hackers are using email spoofing to misuse email address. Be sure that you don't disclose your email to any website you don't trust.

I have already changed my password. I really mean all the password of my emails. And I no longer register to websites. I really don't know how this happened.
