I need your advice myLotters!

One of my very best friends is a very intelligent guy. I see so much potential in him to do great things with his life because he's smart and multi talented. The problem is he doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. I try and point out the things he's good at and he still doesn't know what do with himself and his future. The best way I can describe him is that he's a dreamer. He'll talk about things he's interested in, things he likes, but won't actually get up and pursue it. So now I ask you guys, how do give advice to a person like this? How do you motivate someone like this? How can you inspire them to do something with themselves? What more can I say to him to make him want to do something with his life? He's a great friend and I would hate to see him left behind while everybody else is moving on with their lives.
