here's a little story of what my son did this morning. oh my god, i wanted to scream. my son came home yesterday with a sticker on him reminding them of picture day today. he's just 8 years old and in the 3rd grade. so i tell him last night to make sure he washed his hair for picture day. well, he done that. that's great. he went to bed when it was bedtime. now sometime between when he went to bed and this morning when i went to wake him up he decided to cut his own bangs because they were in his eyes and bugging him. he had the choice of how he wanted his hair back in august when we went to get his hair cut before school started. he decided he wanted to keep it kinda long and grow it out. he did not want his bangs cut just the back trimmed some. now the day of picture day i have to see my son with crooked bangs. so mommy and daddy had to try and make his bangs as even as we could get them. has anybody else had to go through this or something similar? what kids will do these days still amaze me.

My daughter did that once but it wasn't just her bangs. She asked her older sister to cut it. I went in their room that morning and my oldest daughter was behind her sister just cutting away. I should mention they hated each other most of the time. They both got up early so they wouldn't wake me. there was hair everywhere. Lucky for me my sister is a hairdresser and was staying with us for a week. We took before and after pictures. My sister still gets a kick out of it.

great story. something you will always remember. you were lucky for your sister. we just had to do the beat we could.

I think sometimes kids do many different things which parents don’t understand sometimes. I think now your kids were to cut his hair as in his styles. Because he may watches anywhere this style and now he want this style on his hair. So he does that. I think it is not bad. I think Sometimes parents should give permission to child what they want to do.

he had the choice of how he wanted his hair. he wanted to grow it long like some guy he saw on tv in a movie. he just said that it got to bothering him. instead of cutting it himself, he should have let us know that.
