It has been told that The biggest lie on the planet is to think " When I get what I want, I will be happy !' but there is no such thing as that - a supposedly perfect situation where you keep wanting something and when you get what you want , you are deliriously happy forever in your life ! No, everything comes with a price tag attached to it .We have to pay a price and also face the consequences...what do you all say ? do you agree with this or do you have something to share?

Good evening dear Kiran8 , well actually i do not fully agree with you on your statement from the Discussion Title , i actually do think and i know , that at last for me "When i'll get what i want , I will be Happy" but it wont last for an eternity or a lifetime , it will last a few weeks maximum , and then once i will see or find something that i think and forsee that it will bring me happynness , then i am setting a new limit , a new goal , i reset the kilometres made on a engine of a car , so i continuosly run after happynness , thingz or people that i am certain for a fact that they will bring happinness in my life , then i target it and i am runing from all the force to reach this object , goal , line , limit.
I wish you a great evening dear friend Kiran8

Hi Florin , thanks a lot for your response I agree with your views, in life we can never be constantly happy or satisfied. It is as you point out a continuous process of setting goals and trying to attain it, sometimes we may never be able to fulfill it, so go after something else - have a nice day florin and happy mylotting

Hi Kiran,
I would like to say that what a person wants is not constant. It varies with his/her age and is a function of time. For example, what you wanted most as a kid is surely not what you want most in your teens and that will again change after marriage. This logic says that you can never be happy cos' happiness is a catch 22 situation.
But, there ARE people who are happy. So, assuming the hypothesis is true we logically come to a conclusion which is FALSE obviously. This proves that the hypothesis is wrong-Kiran!!!

Hi serubhai, that is also true, our wants change with our age and also life circumstances.Happiness is not constant, it comes in flashes, there is no such thing as being happy and satisfied all the time , thats what I was trying to say and we have many wants in life and it is never ending...all the best and happy mylotting

It will never happen, there will something a miss.
If we get everything what we want we all forget the mighty god. So, he never allows that, gives something short what we asked for.

Hi, exactly, we will never be completely happy in life forever, there will be flashes of happiness no doubt, but it never lasts for long. It may only vary in degrees with regard to different individuals - thanks a lot for the participation and have a great day

Don't you worry. You will never see the day when you get all you want... either you dont get everything you want... or by the time you get what you thought you wanted, your wants would have multiplied leaving you wanting... thus you will never be accused of lying for one thing...

Hi Gadhisunu, Thats exactly what I think too...We will never be satisfied completely in life and when a person has wants , they only multiply, more so when we attains one - it makes us confident and want more. Thanks a lot for your response, happy mylotting

To want to something is human nature. For that something to loose value on getting it is also natural. Otherwise there would have been no progress. What is needed is to cherish what you have, just as I cherish my wife in my life. We have to work hard and take all the bumps on the way. Perhaps this is the only price pay.

I think i`s not a lie to say it because someone definitely will be very happy to have what they want, didn`t you ever see someone laughing loudly after having their master degree or something like award winning, yes agree with you that the happiness for having things you want won`t keep you happy for all your life, there will be another wish rising from our mind, but personally i disagree to say its a big lie.

Hi , I am not saying that people are not happy when they achieve something in life, but that it does not end there.Like in the case you mentioned after attaining a degree , the person needs to find a job, or if he already has a job, he has to do his best to do better than others and get to the top and so on...Thanks a lot for your response and happy mylotting

Do things that make you happy, and you will be happy. Get what you want, and you will be temporarily happy.

hi kiran madam,
it is quite right in the life and it is true also, for every action there is reaction like that for everything we have to pay according to the tag, there is a saying "Kuch Pana Haito Kuch Khona Hai",if we wish some thing we have to spend some thing, give and take policy ,thats what going on in our lifes, have a nice day

Yugasini, life is nthing but a continuous process of actions and reactions. This can get complicated when there are too many people or too many things are involved. As you rightly say we have to pay the price for everything in our life , whether it is gain or pain - all the best and thanks for the response - have a nice weekend

I think along the lines that if I get what I want I will be happier but not happy to the point of eternal contentment. Its human nature that we seem to be constantly never satisfied always wanting something more. Maybe if we all learnt contentment then things would be very different.

Hi kiran,
There is no limit of our want. More we get more we want. For the whole life
we are running after happiness. Nothing can satisfy us. This dissatisfaction is the source of energy of our life. Only a saint can say I got every thing.I'm happy.

Hi bhanu, yes I agree that we are never satisfied and keep wanting more and more out of life.I feel that once you make up your mind that your happiness lies with you and not with someone else or with something that you want at that moment , things fall into place and you are much more at peace with your self - all the best and happy mylotting

I agree that everything comes with a heavy price tag and we have to work for it. But when I see the title, it seems that when people are getting what they want, they are doing it the bad way. Say, harming somebody or framing somebody just to get rid of their crimes, so on and so forth.

Hi Judge, thanks a lot for your response I dint get your point, however I agree that we have to pay a price for everything in life. Nothing comes free and we can safely say that life is nothing but a continuous process of actions and reactions...All the best and have a great weekend

Hi! I think it depends. Sometimes when we get what we want we really are happy. Sometimes it's the opposite, lol. We really can't tell till we get it, right.
A good example, this 2 people are blindly in love. It's like you and me against the world kinda love. They wanted to get married to have a happy life. Then after a few months they found out what a miserable pair they are. Which is why sometimes when you get what you want, it's not always a happy ending.
But me, if I get to buy things I want, I'm super happy. Lol.

Hi santos, thanks a lot for your views thats exactly what I meant, that when we get what we want or thought what we wanted , we may not find it such a great thing afterall...This happens many a times and even when we are happy with what we get, after a while when the novelty is gone we want something else...all the best and happy mylotting

Sometimes, when we get what we want we are unpleasantly surprised. We just have over-estimated a potential benefits. We don't think about negative effects of our desire, so very often an impact on the life is not so positive as we want. I think, because of that people are not completely happy when they achieve the purposes.
My favorite sentence related to the everything I want is "be careful what you wish for, your dreams might come true.

Certainly, Yes. I really think that is the biggest problem we as humans are encountering! We cannot get contented and be happy of what we have. Well of course, there's a good side of it, since you are not contented, you aim higher and then strive to achive more. In that sense, you gain more in life. However, the other side of it is that most people are not happy because they do not appreciate what they have since they are not contented. Let's count our blessings everyday!

How do we always know what we want. Even if we achieve it, there is still something that keeps us from being happy about it. i think we just fool ourselves into believing that having a certain thing will make us happy.

I never thought of it, but I think you're right that this sentence is one of the biggest, if not the biggest lie on the planet.
As humans we already know that this isn't true, yet we constantly live by it by our actions. As humans, we know that we will always have wants and needs which we perceive is better than what we already have, yet we go on. It serves as our drive to live. And unfortunately, it doesn't always lead to good things.

Hi bounce, thanks a lot for your views Knowing fully well that it is a lie we still go on with life, because that is the only way we can lead life, be positive all the time and do the best you can, at the same time dont be too ambitious - all the best and happy mylotting

The truth of the matter is, nothing can satisfy a man. Why? Because it was the original design of God. If we will be settled with what we enjoy here on Earth, then who else will long for heaven?
