I want to hear about the songs that move you, or mean alot to you. Some of the songs that mean alot to me are written by Tool and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They have to have good lyrics for a song to really speak to me. I want to expand my musical horizons, so if you have any examples, that would be awesome. Thanks yall!

RHCP gives me a bittersweet melancholy feeling. And Tool don't move me, they... fascinate me? Anyhow. I recommend Blackfield (or Porcupine Tree, if you're into progressive stuff). I found it hard to listen to first time I heard them (this also happened to me with Tool), but they grew on me and I'm glad it happened. Also, you should try giving non-lyrical post-rock a chance. There are so many bands, like Russian Circles, Sleepmakeswaves, Pelican etc. Some even sound Tool-ish. Sometimes. Anyway, I only listed bands, so I should recommend a song: Porcupine Tree - "Anesthetize".

Thank you, I marked you as best response because your answer just included a lot of suggestions and interesting points that are really applicable to me. And non lyrical post rock? Wow, thats a best answer in itself. I have never gotten into it but I will listen to the bands you mentioned. Im going to try to pull them up on playlist.com.

I really love the red hot chili peppers, I love their song can't stop and the zephyr song, I'm a fan of them. I also love the music of the coldplay because their song is kind the soothing to me like yellow, trouble, and the scientist. Try them, and also try the song of Yui Amano, a japanese singer, I don't understand her song but I love her voice, specially the song Goodbye Day, Happy line, and skyline try them, I think you'll love them.

Dude, it is so funny that you bring up coldplay! I was listening to them yesterday for the first time and I thought that I had first judged them too harsly. I really like them, but the music isn't like rock music, which i usually listen to. However, theres just something about Coldplay. And the lyrics are sooooo good. Thanks for hanging out and leaving an answer. I dig it!

I very much enjoy listening to songs. The composers are really marvellous, making the lyrics so beautiful and enchanting. I have many favorites, and one of them is "Tennessee Waltz". The waltz music is so enticing, and the lyric is so meaningful too. I have a CD with the song, and enjoy listening to it every now and then.
