Does God always answer your prayers? Sometimes I think that a lot of Believers have trouble with this. We pray for God to do something, and it seems as though nothing has happened. When you find yourself in this predicament, what do you do? Are you angry with God? Do you just accept it, or maybe you feel like you asked for the wrong thing, etc? I'm interested in your answers and observations on this.

If you work hard for what you want, you will get it. Lets see famous atheist who never asked God anything and still are better off than "believers".
1.Lance Armstrong (Tour de France 7 times!
2. Isaac Asimov (futuristic short story writer)
3. Warren Buffett and Bill Gates (world's richest)
4. James Cameron (director)
5. Fidel Castro (Cuban President)
...you can find more at http://www.celebatheist.com/wiki/main_page
All they did is to keep learning and finding a way to perfect their craft.
Just an observation.

The only problem is, everything they've attained will fade away and burn up. What's even worse is, everything they've worked so hard to obtain will be fought over by their surviving relatives.
Secondly, your first sentence isn't 100% truthful...you can work hard all you want, that doesn't mean you're gonna get what you worked for...look at Karl Malone, John Stockton, Charles Barkley...ringless but who would argue with their work ethic?
Sam Walton worked hard - prayed harder, and you just picked some 'things' from his store last night...lol // WalMart

well, yes what they have worked for will be forgotten and fought over by the remaining relatives but they attained their own success in it. they got what they wanted even if they were atheist.
About Malone and the rest, they are still successfull arent they? the ring is not their only goal in life, our goals, wants and need change all the time. it adjust to what we can attain with our abilities.
Good discussion. I like this.

There are three variables in God's answer to our prayer.
1. God gives us exactly what we want.
2. God delays the thing we want until such time when our prayer can be granted.
3. God does not give what we want, but gives us better thing according to his judge.

i think sometimes the answer is no. But then again I don't see G-d as Santa Claus. I mean I don't see Him as a giver of everything on my wish list. I never pray for things but to thank Him for things that have already happened. I hope for peace on Earth, more money and to keep my health but I Never Ever would beg G-d for Any of it. Am I strange? are there people who See G-d as Santa Claus?

He doesn't always do so. well not at the time i expect Him to. i've always known from experience that having a strong faith in Him helped me get by every day. i don't need to be angry with Him. if what i'm praying for is according to His will, then let it be done. if not, i know He has better things planned for me and it will be revealed in His time. i just take my time and enjoy the journey while all my prayers aren't being answered yet. even if we find ourselves in situations as if nothing happened, just think of all the lessons and values we learned as we get along. He will definitely not bring us into something we can't get through.

Two things I've know:
1. God does answer prayers.
2. The prayers are answered on His time, not ours.
As long as we trust in our faith that the prayers will be answered.

God knows what is best for us. Sometimes we think what we want is the best thing for us. But, God knows ahead of time if what we are asking Him for is in our best interest. We need to always pray for God's will to be done and not our own will. Then leave it in Gods hands. If we don't get what we prayed for, we need to trust that it wasn't what God wanted for us at the time.

I suppose my thinking has been matured with my years of wisdom as I never pray for anything outside of acceptance. I am always thankful for all good and the bad as I have learned from my experiences. I have also learned that nothing is ever over when we want it to end, as it will be over but only on God's time.
Today I read something that spun out to me and it was
Happiness keeps you sweet
Trials & Tribulations keep you strong
Sorrows keep you human
Success keeps you glowing.
But only God keeps us going.

the only thing i'll say is when we pray we should "PUSH"
-PRAY
-UNTIL
-SOMETHING
-HAPPENS
it is stated in the bible "PRAY WITHOUT CEASING"
GOD will answer us with "YES" and give us what we ask
"NO" i prepared the best for you.
and it could be "WAIT"not now.
we may never know his PLAN but...............we can always trust his WILL.
GOD BLESS.

Sometimes, it seems that God doesnt answer our prayer, because we people want an instant answer. But God knows what is best for us, God knows when to answer our prayers, how to answer our prayers, and why He has to answer our prayers. We have to trust on the God's plans, however it may seem irrational, because at the end of the day, we willsurely be guided. He loves us so much so there is no need to question Him.
