Should advertising for gambling be banned and / or regulated?

I am very disturbed that in most parts of Europe, gambling companies such as online casinos are allowed to advertise on television 24 hours a day, making life very difficult for people who have / or had gambling addiction, and also exposing minors to gambling.
Also, watch any football match in Europe and you are inundated by gambling advertising, ranging from shirt sponsors to board advertisers and half-time commercials.
The Internet is also a place that is unregulated for such advertising, some of which can be quite intrusive (pop-ups and animated). I worry that in ten years time, Europe will have millions upon millions of gambling addicts, and then us taxpayers will be expected to pay to support them whilst the online casinos make a fortune.

Nope. I mean, people are going to do it anyway, so banning it is really not a good idea, since it will not stop those who want to gamble anyway. Regulating gambling is a good idea though, so people can do it safely. So I am all for regulation, but not really banning, since I think it will do more damage than good. I am not a gambler by the way!
