I recently bought an HD camcorder and I didn't think about my PC for editing. Before buying I had a Sony Vegas professional 9 installed, but I never have edited anything in HD format with it. My PC is just a normal business type pc 1.5 gb ram, 80 gb Harddrive, 3.0 ghz processor, but it doesn't have graphics card and soundcard so it is really slow when processing the movie files. Do you know where to get them cheap?

If your mainboard is support recent technology, I think you should upgrade the HDD to 160 gh (160GB SAMSUNG Sata 2 is about 37 USD), the CPU to Core2duo (INTEL Core2 Duo - E7600 (3.06GHz) is about 150 USD) or Core2Quad (INTEL Core 2 Quad Q8300 (2.5GHz) is about 150 USD). The Graphics shuold to be 1Gh if you want to do with movie files, if you play game just need 512 Mb (GIGABYTE GV-NX84S512HP is about 39 USD). You can choose Geoforce (it cheapest but very strong), i think GIGABYTE GV-N98TOC-1GI (about 150 USD) is good. RAM should be DDR3, you can choose 1GB DDRAM 3 Elixir (about 25USD). With Sourdcard you just need the basic type , you can choose Creative SB X-Fi Titanium (about 115 USD) or CREATIVE Sound Blaster 5.1 VX (about 19 USD)

I have found www.newegg.com to be a very helpful place to get computer parts and gaming computers, their prices are affordable, the gaming pc I have has a GTX Nvedia 460 card (I don't want to type it all out because I am lazy and mylot won't let me paste .) with liquid cooling for $900.00 :D very cheap compared to other gaming pcs, and this one will run any game at the highest setting with 60fps. happy mylotting

Hi, I don't think playing games in Computers is cost effective at all. If you want to feed yourself with some real pleasure then save some money to buy a PS2,PS3 or xBox. Playing games in a wide screen television is really a huge experience. In order to play any recent game in your computer you'll need some advance set up in your computer, which may involve add on cards, huge RAM and new motherboard and processor. The cost will be huge, yet you can't guarantee that it will function well for long. So it would be better if you just switch your attention to your television. Thanks. God bless you.

I want a gaming pc for editing my hd videos. I don't really like video games. I'd rather play basketball at the park with my friends than play video games at home.

if you want just to upload videos, what you are going to need is a better processor, to make them go faster. You should also consider an external hard drive, or more memory for your pc, to give you somewhere to store the videos that you rae uploading. You may also need a better graphics card as you said it is HD. It depends, can you pc currently handle the HD or not? But 3 ghz or ram should be enough i imagine, and 80gb harddrive really could do with an upgrade to 250gb. I think you problam is with the RAM of 1.5gb. I think for that sort of task, you need around 2.5gb or above. But it is possible that the problem is not with your pc. Uploading vids and stuff takes time, due to the time it takes to go down via USB. This may be your problem, there should be something about it in the manual with the camera. It may be that you just have to leave it a while.

Sorry, but I don't think gaming consoles can edit my videos at all. I don't play video games that much because I get bored easily with video games.
