This child belongs to a friend of mine. We are praying that she is still in the local area, but who knows when a child disappears!!! Gloria, her Mom, is frantic at this point in time not knowing the whereabouts of her child. If, by any chance, you have seen this child, please contact the Elberton GA Police Department at 706-283-1211 or notify your local police so they can get her back home!!! Have you ever had anyone close to you just disappear??? If so, how did you deal with it????

I almost lost my 4 year old son in the mall. We were eating in a fast food chain when he suddenly wanted to pee. My husband left us to buy something in the department store. We were waiting in a queue when suddenly I realize he wasn't there beside me anymore. I immediately alerted the guard about my missing child, he said I should take another look in the store. My worry is there are two exits in the store and there are just so many people, what if one of them abducted my child? Luckily I found him standing in an inner table, also looking for me. I hurriedly hug him. I just had the scare of my life.
I hope and pray you can find the child soon. Be strong for your friend.

I have seen parents with leashes on their children & thought how sad. If you think about it, that's the safest way to keep up with an active toddler!!! I have a neighbor whose daughter when she was about 3 or 4 would hide from her Dad when he took her shopping. Of course it ALWAYS scared him...even when he thought she was hiding nearby!!! So, he took her shopping one day & he hid from her & watched as she walked around calling him & crying. He finally stepped out from around a corner & she ran up to him & hugged his neck. She said I was really scared & he told her that's how he felt when she hid from him. That was 9 years ago & she NEVER hid again. After that, she stayed by his side...even running if necessary to keep up with him. At the time, I thought he was a mean SOB, but I guess it was what she needed to stop a disaster from possibly happening!!!
With Haley, I'd feel torn between hugging her neck when she got home & busting her butt!!! I understand that she couldn't walk in & announce "I'm running away"; but she's really old enough to know better!!!!

Hi Marissa! Thank you! I'm sorry if I haven't commented back as I haven't been on Mylot for the past two months. Anyway, I'm happy that you found her already. After the incident with my son, I bought him a leash. Many people find it amusing. In fact, when we went to a mall, I overheard a little girl say "Oh, they treat him like a dog". Better that, than to lose him again. Although now, we don't use it anymore as he knows how to stay close. We also tried hiding from him, but he is not the type who would cry. He would just stop in one place and try to look around him. And when he sees us, he would be so happy. He just thought we are playing.
Thanks again Marissa and have a nice day!

I've only had step children who I loved dearly. I think it's a parent's worst nightmare to have a child just disappear!!! She was in her room one moment & gone the next!!! Gloria is going through the "what could I have done different" & blaming herself right now. She feels she should have seen this coming. I keep trying to tell her that there is NO way to know what a 13 year old is thinking as they don't know themselves!!! I've been really hoping that Haley would find being out on the streets not so comfortable, come to her senses & show back up at home. However, the longer this stretches out, the more worried I become!!!

Haven't seen her in our part of the country. How sad. I feel so bad for the parents. Do the parents know who she was with the last time she was seen at Circle K? At 13 I doubt she was driving. Can't imagine how awful this experience is for your friend. Will pray they find her safe and sound. I personally don't know anyone who disappeared. I wouldn't deal with it well at all if it was a family memeber who was lost or missing.

She walked into the Circle K & she walked out of the Circle K & was last seen walking down the street. At this point they don't think she's with anyone else. I don't understand how they came to that conclusion as they have NO clue where she is. There have been some unverified sightings around town. So, we have HUGE hope that she's still in town (probably trying to teach her Mom a lesson). I know from supporting Gloria that having a child disappear is extremely traumatic for the Mom. I've never had the problem & hope I NEVER will!!!! Every time the phone rings, I pray it's the police saying they've found her!!!

Yes, I did another discussion to announce that she had been found!!! She was hiding in town. People kept giving reports of sightings of her until she was finally caught. She is back with her family now & they are working on sorting out her problems. I personally think she should have been arrested & taken to jail & kept there for several days with NO visitors allowed!!! She's an ungrateful little child!!!!

I'm praying that she comes to her senses & just returns home!!! If she's forced top go home, she just might disappear again, but a little more prepared. This child is used to all the comforts of home & has every freaking gadget that has come out!!! I'm hoping she'll get to missing her stuff more than anything else!!!

It appears that she has just run away; but you never know!!! It's possible that she left on her own & if somebody grabbed her off the streets, she just might be in any country by now!!! Since she was seen close to her home 12 hours after disappearing, it is our prayer that she is just hiding out close to home. She was always a sweet girl, but you know what turning into a teen can do for the attitude!!! I really pray that you don't see her Gabs as that will mean there are bigger problems than we even imagined!!!

Nope. This hadn't happened to me. I was the one who got lost. My parents were looking for me for 2 hours.

It doesn't appear that this girl just got lost. All signs indicate that she left of her own free will. To our knowledge, she doesn't have a whole lot of cash on her & I'm hoping that she returns home when she gets hungry. I just figured that it wouldn't hurt to put her picture out there fairly quick, just in case she's started traveling!!! Her Mom is just beside herself with grief right now!!!!
