I am both a fan of Harry Potter and The Lord of The Ring. When I got hold of these books, i got hooked. Can't put them down - I had to bring the books to my work to read during breaktimes.
But, if were to choose one, I would probably choose Harry Potter because it is more humorous.

This is SUCH a hard question. I don't even know if I can answer it, to be honest... I mean, I guess if I had to answer it, I would say Harry Potter, only because it was written in my generation, so it's what I grew up with, but LOTR is so good. I haven't read the books, though... and that might make all the difference!

It really is! I think that comparing movies, I would go with LOTR, but comparing books I just can't say because I haven't read the LOTR books.... shame!!!

I like Harry Potter better than Lord of the Rings because its a lot easier to read.
I have a complete 3 in 1 volume of Lord of the Rings but I have never read all of it.I just read the parts I like.Love the parts about the White Lady of Rohan.

I don't watch nor read the books of LOTR I don't know why but it doesn't have a pull on me. I love Harry Potter. Its not just making me hook at watching it more and more... I don't have a favorite character in that movie but its just great to watch... I've also read the book and i can say i'm hooked on it as well.

I would choose Harry Potter more because ever since i was a kid i watched the movie like a 1000 times and i am still not bored of it now. I would love to watch the movie again and again. I have always been enchanted by the spells, the magic and fun. I still read the books even though i know most of them by heart.
Cheers!

I have to say LOTR, because harry potter is to childish, I like heavier stuff, and there is so much more to LOTR, like the Hobbit and Books of the lost tales, both are related to LOTR and also have read both.
