Today I had lunch in McDonald's. I wondered whether there are hamburgers for vegetarians? As here all the hamburgers contain meats. So no suitable hamburgers for vegetarians. I wonder whether it is the same in your side.

Definitely one of the fastfood industry improvements. I don' think they have one at Mcdonalds though, the healthiest that they've got is their sausage mcmuffin and it's not even a burger. I'm from the philippines and surprisingly we have some burgers made of mushroom. Too bad it only has one tourist-attraction branch. it's far from the city so i still don't get to eat them often.

Of course there are burgers for vegetarians. Many restaurants offer some form of them. They are also available at supermarkets. I hear even Denny's is adding a veggie burger to their menu.

I faced the same problem too here when I visit Mc Donald's outlet. They just don't have a burger for vegetarian. It's also part of the reason, why I find it tough to practice 100% vegetarian diet over here. It's hard to find a suitable restaurant. Most of the items in the menu are having meat.

Nope, not 100% vegetarian. But I am like 70~80% vegetarian. As mentioned earlier, I find that it's tough and less practical to implement pure vegetarian diet here. The shops that sell vegetarian shop is not many. Besides, most of my friends that I hangout with do not like vegetarian food. Happy posting and have a nice day!

There are burgers for vegetarians! My favourite is the Garden Burger because it has such a unique flavor, but I have eaten veggie burgers that I was CONVINCED had real meat it in because it tasted so similar! So they're definitely out there :)

No veggie burgers in McDonalds? Oh, I doubt they'd offer them. Sometimes you can get them at restaurants and, of course, you can buy them at your local convience store. Have you ever tried them before? They're delicious!

I think they tried selling vegetarian hamburgers there for a short time but they must not have sold enough of them. I know people do go in and order the buns with lettuce and tomato, ketchup and mustard though. Here we do sell vegetarian burgers in the supermarkets though. They are in the frozen food section. They are made by a company called Boca. We have had them before they are not so bad.

http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/001567.html Yes, there are vegetarian burgers. Needless to say they don't have "meat" in them & you won't find them at McDonald's just yet!!! The above link will take you to a site that gives a recipe for a "Veggie Burger" as they are called here in the US. I'm NOT a vegetarian so I cannot verify how good it would be, but it should give you some insight into what goes into a Veggie Burger. It is my personal opinion that we need some of both meat & vegetables in order to be healthy. I do love my meat, but I feel a diet of only meat would be harmful much like i feel a diet without meat can be harmful!!! I respect a person's need to choose for themselves & feel everyone should do what is BEST for them!!!

I think there is something called a veggie burger.it is a hamburger pattie made of vegetables and tofu.I haven't tried it,but a former colleague of mine said it's good.I wouldn't want to go all the way vegetarian, though.I am trying to practice being a pesco-vegetarian (a person who takes dairy products, fish, and seafood, but no pork, beef, etc).

Hi, For macdonalds, I guess there is no vegetarians burger, all their burger is come with eat chicken, fish or beef. In singapore, there is another burger outlet called MOS BURGER. I guess there should have that kind of vegetarian burger. Their burger size is smaller and it is totally different from Macdonalds. They have those like japanese style burger. I have not been eating Mos Burgers for quite some time.

I have not come across vegetarian hamburgers before. Maybe you can create a new recipe for vegeterian hamburgers for the benefit of all vegetarians. Hamburgers are not all meat but they have high fat contents too.

hi youless here in California in the U S yes we can buy veggieburgers from Morning star farms, and several other brands in our grocery stores and some of them really are meaty tasting and delicious. Some brands I do nmot like but they are made from soy and seasoned well and are quite convincing as to being meaty flavored. I like MorningStar farms veggie burgers.

I haven't really tasted one yet but I heard that there are burgers that use vegetarian meat instead of real meat. I've tasted a vegetarian meat before and they taste quite good :) I think they're made of soy. I think they're sold at supermarkets so if you want you can make your own vegetarian burgers with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions on it :)

I don't think you can get them in the fast food chains, but yes you can get soya mince and ,ake your own meat free burgers. I have done it before. You can also have veggie burgers, and vegetarian sausages.

Perhaps the cost is much more expensive than the real meats.
