Have you ever heard about Evolta? It is a robot produced by Panasonic. It has done a lot of amazing thing, and one of them was climbing Grand Canyon.
That robot is going to do yet another amazing thing. It is going to walk as far as 483km from Tokyo to Kyoto.
Evolta that will walk for 483km will be shaped as a tiny figure with 17 inch height, and it will pull a classic wagon from Japanese's middle-era (I forgot which era it was). The wagon is actually its power source, a 12 AA batteries that will only be allowed to be charged once everyday.
With speed approximately 2 to 3 meter per hour, Evolta will be scheduled to arrive at Kyoto next December 10th.
Amazing! Simply amazing!

That's possible I guess, but the battery will be a lot bigger.

I remeber back in 2008 when Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. unveiled Takahashi's the tiny robot mascot for the Evolta line of alkaline batteries.
The Evolta robot attempted to climb a rope from the bottom to the top of the Grand Canyon. The first try, in May 2008, Evolta's foot was malfunctioning and was not able to climb up any higher. The second next day try, it stopped at around 100 meters due to rough weather including hail. Then on the third try, Evolta managed to climb up all the way reaching 530 meters in 6 hours 46 minutes, using only a pair of AA alkaline Evolta batteries.
Wow so absolutely amazing!
