what's wrong with my xampp?

I installed xampp in my laptop but when I run it and click the start button for apache, it suddenly stop running. But the mysql is working properly only the apache is not. What's wrong with it? I have installed xampp before and it was working perfectly but I need to reformat my laptop so I need to install it again. I download xampp in internet where I get it free but this time my xampp apache is not working. Hope you could help me here. Thanks a lot!

Yes some time this kind of problem occurs. You can do one thing go the site and download the appropriate version of the wamp or lamp what ever you think is better for your system.
I think xampp some time create problem and I have also not used this due to the reason.

I finally found out why my apache was not working. It's because some program is using the same port the apache will use. That why when I start the apache the other program is terminating it. I read in one forum online about this that the port designated for apache should be free. Before I didn't know how to check what program was using the same port for apache. I'm glad i open the folder of xampp and there I saw xampp-portcheck. I just open it and saw the program that was using the same port. I just uninstall the program, anyway I was not gonna use it that's why. And after uninstalling it, I run my apache and it works now.
I think you can end process the program in task manager if you don't want to uninstall it.
