Should parents RULE their kids?

SHould parents rule their kids... I know parents are meant to raise and teach but is ruling them right... I had a mother who treated me like I was her personal slave... I raise my brother... I took care of all her animals... I was the one who was forced to clean the house, vacuum, do dishes, laundry, and everything else... I ran her errands and did her clothes... I was in charge of cleaning her room... I was never aloud in my room unless i was changing or going to bed late at night... My mother was very violent and thought that she never did anything wrong and if anything happened it was always my fault.. Is it right for parents to rule their kids?

I also never feel what you feel. I am very angry with my mother at that time. But after I had grown up and married, I realized my mom did was to educate me. I am now very grateful to my mother. Now, my mother often helps me do my housework, while visiting my home.
