I need a new MP3 player, any suggestions? Is the new Ipod (6th gen) worth it?

My old MP3 player, Creative Zen, gave up on me just recently. I kinda feel sad because after years of serving me with good music at a very cheap price, the time has finally come for me to replace it and buy a new, healthy one. My zen had a good life though; every feature was utilized well. Now that my old MP3 player has finally rested in peace, I am looking for a quality and portable MP3 player that is, of course, worth buying. Ipod nano 6th generation caught my attention. It is the newly released Ipod Nano of Apple and it looks like an Ipod shuffle with a screen. Since I never had an Ipod, I do not know if this is worth buying compared to the other Ipods. I like it because it fits perfectly inside my jean's pockets which is my #1 criteria for choosing an MP3 player - it should fit inside small pockets. Needless to say, I value comfort before everything else. I prefer portable MP3 players than those packed with features but aren't small enough. Basically, the smaller the better. I am choosing between Ipod nano 5th generation and 6th generation since they are sold at the same price. The 5th generation appeals to me because of its reasonable features but for those who own one, do you ever get to use those features and does it even work well? I've read reviews of the 6th generation and most say that touch screen for a very small device is not practical. Please help me decide. I would really appreciate your opinions. Other options aside from the ones mentioned are welcome. TIA! :)
