Do you Still Live the Child Within You?

This is inspired by a thread started by Albert Whisker and the original can be found here - http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2402724.aspx - Look for the pics and discussion in my reply and its responses.
I feel that as we grow in age, the innocence that we have within us gets killed and we rarely live like a child any more.
However. I have managed to keep some of my "child" instincts with me and I still like doing things like a child on some occasions - I love getting drenched in the rain, playing in the rains/mud, just letting it go when it comes to cartoons(Tim and Jerry- I still love watching those), and a lot more.
Do you still believe in this? I mean do you still try doing things (ok maybe sometimes) to live that child within you?
Please Share.
Thanks.
Sids.

There was also something else I loved doing as a child apart from playing in the rain and mud. I remember on many occasions while looking DIY 3D toys and jigsaw puzzles for my sons I end up buying one for myself too. Love to relive the child within.

Thats really great of you tomitomi. I had mentioned this earlier that you are an ideal parent and your kids are really blessed.
I would keep this idea of getting some games for me too when we have kids and yes, I would too look forward to relive my child with my child.
I play with those DIY toys when I am at my dad's place with my brothers' boy though many a times we start quarreling and my mom yells - Grow Up Sid. You are not a kid anymore...
But I love that part too.
Cheers,
Sids.

Now i am in my forties. When i am alone with my husband and when he is in a happy mood, i behave like like a small girl. dancing, singing, hoping, running and fighting. when i am happy i feel like a small girl.

Hi john,
Thats exactly what I love in people. Dont you think that this small act of yours not only re-enlightens you up but also rekindles the feelings of love and happiness between you two? This is the best thing that the child in us does.
I am really happy to know this small secret of yours. I would implement this one with my wife for sure and hope this would re-fresh our relationship that seems to be going good at the moment.
Thanks for your sharing of the secret and showing me a way to walk on.

Hi!
Yes, I still do.
I have a nine year old daughter and we play her toys during weekends, and it is facinating to know that I don't just play with her for the sake of playing, but that I'm still having the satisfaction of playing with paper dolls, of changing its clothes from one outfit to another, and would you believe I even have my own set.
By doing this, Im already having my quality time with my daughter and Im keeping myself from stress.
Have a nice day!

Hi twinkle.
I believe that this is the beauty of life. It gives you chances to relive. The feelings of joy that you relive your child with your child would be really a wonderful experience because I too felt this quite a number of times with many children I have met.
We are yet to have any kid as of now.
Regards,
Sids.

I think it's important for us to keep the child in us alive. We need to keep that spark of imagination and expression. it can see us through a troubled time.

You should or you'll go crazy. The child in you is what keeps you sane. This is what keeps you going.

My mom called me an old soul. I honestly don't remember the innocence you speak of. I was born stubborn and now I see wise too I guess. I am more happy now than I ever was as a child.

Great thought Sid. I wish you are able to maintain and keep that child within you surviving for long.
Mortal Kombat... I wish to play that Mortal Kombat Vs DC but unfortunately that is not available on the PC platform and I dont want to invest in that XBox or PS things as I know that once I have any of those, I would be sucked deep within and that would ruin me surely this time... I have already survived the Project IGI v1 and II.
Have a great weekend,
Sids.

I still play games, but more on video games. Cartoons, yeah, because I have a 5 yo kid who watches cartoons all the time. But I do enjoy watching it too. But about playing in the rain/mud, I can't do that anymore specially in the city . We play in the beach or swimming pool instead whenever we take vacations!

Hi damned_dle,
It is really a great feeling when we start re-living our childhood days with our children. Though I do not have any of my own yet, I still enjoy this feeling with the kids at the orphanage (where I visit whenever i can) and my brother's boy aged 6.
Good to know that you still live out the child in you!
Regards,
Sids.
