when is the last time you gave something away ????

I am always giving stuff away. I buy alot of things from charity shops and when I find I have too much or things I no longer use I give them away on either Freecycle or back to charity. Last time I had a massive clearout was 4 weeks ago when I moved. I gave away clothes, TVs, and all types of things you can think of... Makes me feel better about saving landfill too :)

There is true genius behind this idea!! My dad was a packrat. He saved everything. He finally concluded it was a wasted effort because when you needed something, you could never find it until after you gave up and bought it again. He began giving me something everytime I saw him. In time, he was no longer a packrat. I found it was all at my house. I guess he figured if he ever needed anything, it would be up to me to find it at my house. OK! OK! I'm working on it. I can't let the old man outsmart me. I gave lots to charity and got a good tax deduction. My friends love me for I'm always giving gifts. Since I could never find what I needed in all that stuff, this is working really wellLower taxes and more friends. It's lots better than a cluttered mess.

Hiya laken, I like to give things away too when I can. Be it clothes or Food in packets of course. In certain parts here now they have put special Bins for Clothes and Shoes and I think that it is a very good idea for those People who don´t have anyone to give the Clothes too and much better than going on the Rubbish Tip. So I hope that they will put one here soon as I clean out every so often and I hate giving really old clothes away and I hate having to throw them in the Bin too as it is not the proper Bin yet. All the rest I can recycle very well but other things they have not bothered to find a remedy for that yet. At least if there was a special place where we could take them and we know that they are going to use them and not just dump them then that would be great too. I only give away fairly new clothes when I do give away.

Last time I gave anything away, was in 1984. My freedom, in my marriage. Not a bad trade for me! Since then my wife has been the person who took care of all things. She doesn't like clutter so I guess she has been giving things away!

Good evening dear friend Laken02 , well i dont really have too much thingz to give away but just as yourself i do like also to give stuffs aways , and I also just cammed acrossed giving a small bag of clothes that have outgrowed me too and some clothes that i've buyed and weared only two times maximum ( but i just dont like them anymore )so i cann say that a few clothes that i just gaved away three days ago , they were practically almost new , also i am giving out my old pair of nike shoes , wich are still in a good condition and they still fit me , but as i just changed my clothing style and had a new wardrobe , i am left with two new paires of sneakers and four pair of new shoes , and now i am making a new box for giving to the red cross , a box with old toys and withing that box i have one playstation one and around twenty games , i like to give this away to the poor kids that live in a foster home in Roumania ( i live in Belgium now but i used to live in Roumania ), so as i said the box with old toys i am giving it to the red cross , and the old playstation one and the box of games for the console , i am sending it out to the foster home , where i had lived for four years , before my mother called me and received me in her house in Belgium.
