Okay! there was this call from my younger son. We talked shop for a while and then came the time to say goodbye. It all started here. My son said: Eat regularly. Take you insulin shots regularly. Have your glucose checked regularly. Be careful while driving. Don't drive rash. Don't talk to strangers, particularly at night. Make sure you lock the door before you sleep. Just tell me if you want money. Hold on! Hold on! Hold on! I am the dad here and I am supposed to say these things! What's he trying to do? I asked him and he said: You named after you dad, so I am your dad! What does that make me? My own grandson? I just don't get it.

Well, this shows that how much care and affection your son shows to you. If he is strict in these terms , then he definitely care for you as you are the most valuable person in his life. That's why,he is gives you advice like you are his son, not his Dad. The only thing which i get after reading this is that he cares for you. He can't be with you all the time, so he make sure that you take care of yourself and be fine while he's away from you. I must say, you've got a caring son who cares for you. God Bless him.

He is a great guy! Which translates to "Vadda changa munda hai!" in Pujabi. Thanks Harpreet, God bless you too! BTW was the translation correct?

That just shows how much your son loves you . If he didn't care, he wouldn't be calling you and admonishing you - remember the days when you were the one saying those things to him? You loved him, then, right? and you don't want him to be harmed. That's just what he is doing now - he is mirroring what you had been telling him all those years he was growing up because that is the way he feels that you showed him you care I think that you should be happy that your son's doing this. It might be a little confusing , a little irritating, but trust me, you son loves you.

It is a great feeling and a whole lot of emotions. I always knew he loves me, but this is delightful reminder.

This made me laugh because I do the exact same thiong to my dad. I moved 60 miles away from my hometown to make sure he was okay and to keep an eye on him. I have my own little family to keep an eye on but my dad lives alone and I often worry about him, I leave him strict insturutions on what to do and how to do it. Its only because I care if that makes you feel any better.

I would be thankful he is trying to help you to be proactive and that he cares enough to bother. Some kids don't. I would thank him. He obviously cares about your welfare and wants to remind you of these things. Your own grandson, huh? Good one. I would be thankful for him.

Sounds crazy, right! But it is for real and I am enjoying every moment of it. Besides him I am also thankful to his mother, my bride of 25 years for having raised him in such a way! As for me I was always busy, working in construction and having life threatening diseases at the wrong moments.

When one is getting so much affection where is the harm in becoming a great grand son too. Sometimes we fail to realize how lucky we are.

Wow! Great Grandson! Let's see. My son is 23 years old now. Assuming he gets married by 30, and I become a grandfather 5 years after-wards, and another 23 years for my grandson to make such an offer, I will be a grand 76 years by then. Thank you for wishing such a long life for me. Yes I am lucky!
