How do you keep up your house?

Do you do everything on a specific day? Do you have a laundry day? Or do you do everything everyday? How do you juggle housework, and other things you have to do as well as family, etc. Who does all the work? Is it shared amongst the family? Does each person have specific chores? How does your household function?

Hi stacyv81, we did hire a lady helper to do the clothes and baby diapers washing when I gave birth to my son. It's disappointed that the lady sometimes didn't turn up until the soaked in washing powder clothes gave an unpleasant smell. After purchasing a washing machine we dismissed the lady. Fortunate that I have my mom as well as my mother in law and my husband to take care of the baby then My husband's elder sister is the chef to prepare the three daily meal for the whole family. She also keeps the kitchen and sitting room clean and tidy. I'm a working woman and don't have considerable time. I just have to clean my bed room and bathroom as well as the front yard. Anyway every member of the house has to keep their respective room clean and tidy. When comes back from office my husband would help in some difficult chores that have to climb up down and those need strength. He is the one who pays all kinds of bills as well. My baby boy has grown up and he would help to some simple chores like sweeping, washing dishes and collecting clothes, etc Happy posting

It's been awhile stacyv81, I hope your well. Right now with my children being young, it's hard for myself and my wife to keep the house to 100% tidy. We give each other roles to do, so we can manage between us. I generally do the rubbish, pots and general tidy and she does the cleaning, putting the toys away and making sure the place is at least presentable. We don't do the washing on a daily basis, it's done every 3-4 days. Basically we plan around what we have planned ahead of time to make sure we have time to do the things we need/want too.

During the week days, I have to start quite early. I have to leave around 7 am from home not to be late at work. And, the days can some times be very long. So, by the time I get back home it can be close to 10 pm. Very tired and exhausted. Don't like to do any household matters. So, I could only do the household matters over the weekends.

I don't have a specific housework day. I usually do a whole cleaning on the weekend, but if I'm busy with something else some weekends, I'll leave it until I have free time. our housework is shared between my husband and I. we can manage it smoothly.

My house is totally managed by my wife and daughter in law, they cook, wash clothes, do the shopping with mutual consent and adjustment, sons manage the other things like payment of bills and so on.. Thank you so much for this discussion. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

I am a housewife, every day I must be doing the housework. I do not have a special day for washing or doing other household chores. All I am doing everything I could. If today I can wash, I'll wash. But if I'm tired, I'll do it another day. I'm doing the housework, when all my family members, not in the home. So when they're at home, I can spend time with them.

Well my bbies are 1 and 2, they make their beds and help tidy but thats it, I do the main housework as I enjoy cleaning and clearing but my husband does help. We tend to do it everyday and then have a big clean on a Saturday. I do the washing as and when I have a load. When my children get older I will allocate more for them to do so they can learn that everything isnt done for them :)
