One of the best things you can do in a moment of panic is deep breathing. You body needs that Oxygen to help you keep a level head.

I know that this is not an easy task to do, and even I often lose control when I have to face such complexity in my life. My teacher once told me to breathe steadily. That's because our brain needs more oxigen during panicky situation, and by breatheing steadily we can control the oxigen, and absolutely control our action. Second, do not always follow what appears in our brain so suddenly. Usually, panick will make us do something irrational. So, keep your head down. Think before we act.

I'm not really sure how to tell a person who has been taught to panic how not to panic. This needs to start in childhood. One of the things that helped me and my siblings was our father telling us not to worry, God said He'd take care of us. That was ingrained into us. Our parents also never told us, don't do, you might hurt yourself. We were warned against certain things, like sticking our fingers in the fan while it was on, but it was never a panicked warning the way to many adults are apt to do. We were allowed to grow, experience, and use our own common sense when it came to dangerous situations, and our parents used their common sense in teaching us not to fear. I don't know how to un-teach someone whose parents have taught them to fear. I suppose just try to drum into them the fact the God said He would take care of us.

It`s kinda hard to do that, sometimes we loose our control, when we deal with crisis situations. The only thing that you can do in that moments is to breathe, get yourself together, and think about a solution of the situation.

That`s why i said it`s hard, because it really is, in that moments you cannot think clearly, and usually we act without thinking.

I found that dealing with the problem as soon as possible helped me. If I could maintain control, or take control of any situation that was going to cause me problems then I could better focus on what was happening and make things better. When I was younger I found myself dwelling on my problems without having the ability to fix things. Sometimes life seems to present problem after problem and you go through life worrying, stressing and being unhappy. As we get older we learn how to diffuse bad situations as required without losing our cool or getting too caught up in things.
