Time in life

We each have time and what we do with it is our choice. OK, I can hear you now, I have a job, I have children, I have a duty but this is not the choice I am talking about. I am talking about mind set. I have a job, so I will do the very best I can, or I will try to get by with as little effort as possible. I have children, so I will spend as much time as I can with them, showing support, love and care, or I will find something else for them to do, away from me and I will give as little attention as I can to my children, let someone else attend to them. So you can see this is a choice, just remember that as you sew, so shell you reap and let this be your guide toward life. Do you remember that the choice is yours or do you just do what you always do and try to get through the day? Time for us all to wake up and take charge of our lives as we can. This is a pep talk for me that I thought I'd share. Blessings

It is true that there is so much that we have to do in our lives that may not be our choice but the attitude we take towards doing what we have to is our choice and so is making the decision to make changes in our existence. What kind of day we have is almost always our choice because although we don’t have any control over everything that happens we can control how we react to it.

Time is something that you can never take back. What's done is done. Nothing in history can be changed. The most we can do about anything that has already been done is to take counter measures to prevent the damage from spreading. However, there is one more effective way to stop the damage and that is to prevent it. One should try not to eat up someone's time where that is not the appropriate time. Time is very precious and we cannot afford to waste a single second of it.

I loved your pep talk, thank you. One thing to add is to own your mistakes don't make excuses for them or even worse the blame game. I so hate the blame game, especially in the work force. So many people are so afraid to say I screwed up always having to blame it on someone else. So I hope your pep talk is working well for you. I think I will try this on Monday when it's time to start home schooling again.

Hi savypat, That is very true,it is always our choice as to how much effort we put into what we do. I also believe that we reap what we sew. Many people don't want to accept this because it means that there is no one to blame but themselves. I feel certain that we are meant to be happy and enjoy life and that we manufacture most of the trouble that we have in life. We have to do what is best for our children and the TV, Internet and Video games should not be their babysitters. Life is short, rarely do we realize this when we are young, but later in life we see the importance of living in the moment. Blessings.

yes, life is about making choices. every single time you will face the need to choose. even this act of joining this discussion is a choice. well, maybe just enjoy these choices putting in mind that failure is part of life.

I have found myself giving a similar pep talk to myself from time to time. "I do not have time" is not an excuse for not getting things done. It is more of a question of how I manage my time. If anything, at work I tried to hard. I even got a bad evaluation for doing so, one time. I chose to be home for my children, because their dad traveled. It is a good pep talk.

You are right, but many people do not see things this way now. It seems as though everyone wants things handed to them and that they don't want to have to work at anything. I am shocked at the number of young people that have no work ethics at all. It seems as though everything they do is because they see a benefit from it.

I heard you loud and clear pat. Mis-managing time is a losing game. If we want to see the stars, we need to make some internal adjustments.

Good thoughts! I wish more people could be given this talk, especially parents. I determined long ago that I would control my life and make the most of it. My goal is to die with no regrets and I have achieved that so far!

This pep talk will surely pep up most of myLotters. Life has been quite a mysterious and full of surprises for everyone. I think, At the present times with more and more materialistic mindset cropping into the mindset of people around the world, we are ending up as a mere robot in the hand of time and fate. There are so much of things people want to achieve - before getting married, after getting married, before retiring and after retiring. We end up spending most of our time searching for things we never liked and our own passion gets laid deep within the shadows of heart. Those who fulfill their passion and love of doing something positive will be the happiest in the end.
