Hi Mylotters!
I used to sit after eating meals. My friends are telling me I shouldn't do that cause it will just make my tummy and belly bigger? Is it true? Do I have to stand for sometime after eating? I am having big tummy/belly, I don't know if that is the reason. How will I loose or reduce my belly fats?

i think stnading and walking a Little bit after eating helps you to digest your food, because you will use some energy,, me too have a large tummy, maybe because a always sllep and do nothing so the energy i got from food turns into fats haha im not sure bout that,, thats just what i think about,,, if your at full energy then where will the energy from foods go?? haha

Well, may I differ slightly.. Its always good to sit or rest for a while after eating and not stand and walk immediately.. This is because blood supply is increased to abdominal muscles to help digestion process after a meal. If we walk immediately, body will have to pump additional blood to limbs. This affects the digestion process and slows down metabolism..
It is always better to do regular, moderate exercise at a fixed time everyday..
@Original poster: Always rest for a while after a big meal, may be take a little nap.. It does not do any bad, instead it does good to your health.

hello, im a pharmacyst. i try to help as i can. i guess yes, sitting after you eat will make tummy and belly bigger. my grand ma always suggest me to walking slowly after eating to digest food.it is not good for us to sleep or sit after eating. it can cause fatness n tummy.
if you want to reduce your belly fat, try to drink a lot of water. it will help your body. and dont forget exercise too. try to jogging or walking. but dont try sit up.
lot of people said that sit ip is effective to make your tummy small. but i dont think so. yes it will make your stomach muscle built, but it will still make your stomach look big and compact/solid.

Hi annawen.. Thanks for the advice. I think it'll be better for me to change my habit of sitting after eating, so my tummy won't be bigger as how it is now :D .. It's hard for me to do some exercise, but i'll try my best... I will be for my own sake.. Thanks again!

Well, what I've always heard was that your biggest meal should be breakfast - because you have more time to burn off all of those calories that you consumed, and that you should try eating dinner earlier - especially if you have hte tendency to eat a late dinner - because you have less time to burn it off.
