This is the best way to discipline a child: When he did something wrong, punish him for that. Don't punish him for his mistakes in the past. Show him wants right by leading an example. "You cannot give/impart what you don't have". Remember: What you ignore, you tolerate. What you tolerate, you cannot correct.

A child can be disciplined at the best with feeling that you have authority in front of him. If you say that if he does something then he will be punished, you should always keep your word and starting from a young age. That way he will learn that every action has consequences, and he must bare them. Maybe you will feel sorry for him sometimes, but you have to be firm and teach him to be disciplined. When he does something good you have to reward him, for him to be motivated on doing good things. And I think that sometimes you should use your hands, a few slaps won't physically harm him, but he will remember that he must not do what he did and got a slap. Maybe many will disagree, but this is how I feel. May you enjoy your time with your kid, because time flies by so quickly.

I think that the best way to discipline a child is to present him meny choises and making him choose only one. It will be hard at begining, but for example you tell him to choose from a bred and a sweet, and he will choose the sweet firt time, untill he sees that after the sweet is gone there is no more food, and so i think that the next time he will be a little carefull when he will have to make the choise. Another way is to give him tasks: I you want to have that game, first you have to do.." But is very important to be rewarded , and not lied about the reword, otherwise this will not work.
