what do you do when you feel you are very sad or depressed ? everyone gets that way some time or another.. for me i try to get online and take my mind off what is bothering me or go for a walk or ride my bike very relaxing .. but if none of those chase the blues i have lots of freinds i can call.. so i pick up the phone and call one of my two best friends and before u know it im lol at something she said .. laughter is the best medicine for depression.. that and time alone to sort things out.. along with good music and sometimes even a heartfelt cry can help..
what do u think ???

I have been depressed for 10 years and the first few years I did is crying everyday.
Lately these 3 years I haven't been crying already because I felt that nothing is to be sad of anymore. It has past and become my history.
Now whenever I get depressed I just sleeps for 1 hour, that help me relax after I wake up I can do things I want like reading newspaper, watching tv and exercise.

When sadness hits, you really have to keep busy. Keep busy at every moment, because every moment you are not busy, is a moment that the sadness can overwhelm you. Sadness is a part of life, but it should not overwhelm you to the point where you are not able to function to say the very least. So its important to keep busy and important to really not let the sadness distract you for living your life.
So I get on the Internet and start writing. I find the fact that I can write and my frustrations can be exercised a bit of the time. Or I play a computer game, that is exciting and fun and not all that horrifying. That is going to help me cope with everything. Also chocolate is one of the things that I eat a lot. Chocolate helps soothe me in a number of circumstances. Sadness is one of those solutions. Its a part of life, but by keeping busy, you can help fight sadness.

When I feel very sad or depressed, I try to know the actual reason for such status of my mind. Many times it is because of something in back of my mind which is bothering me a lot. I try to get active in some other things so that I can divert my in other things and come out of that situation. Once I start doing some other activity which requires full concentration, my mind gets diverted and I feel relaxec.
However, if I feel that I am not able to concentrate on some other work, then I try to practice some deep breathing exercise called "pranayama" which makes me feel fresh. The best way for me is that I get involved some activities with my children which gives me lot of joy and that sad feeling vanishes.

It is not a good feeling to be sad or depressed. Nobody wants to feel this way on purpose. when this blue feeling comes my way, i try to find something that makes me happy. I concentraste on this and the sadness and depression usually doesn't last for long.

according to experts crying is good to our health because it helps us lessen our
burden, notice that after you cry you feel lighter right? When im depressed i
listen to music or clean the house, have a general cleaning to get myself busy and
want myself to get tired. After that im already fine.

When I feel sad and depressed I try not to think to what makes me feel down. So I start to listen to the music,especially ambient music, or I paint. It relax me a lot.
Also, I read a book or surf the web to chat with friends:Another thing I do to relax me when I'm stressed is playing with my cat..she's so lovely and always makes me smile!

you are lucky that you have many choices or ways to remove your sadness and depression. but this all do not have and thats why many suffer a lot due to depression and sadness. i have not face too much this problem but still sometime whenever i face this i just watch movies or visit some place outside with ym freind or without them but yes i am not able to share with my freinds. sometime smoking also helps me a lot as i just sit and smoke and try to relax my body.last but no the least as said by you i some time take music as medicine for this and finally i overcome from this. i dont take everything too much seriously so to extreme depression never happens to me.

Hey when I was depressed or sad then I want to like alone for sometime. Because in alone I think about every way that why this situation comes in my life and what is the solution for from get it out. And mostly times I get solution about it. So I always like to be alone for sometimes when I feel depressed or sad.

One of the best way is to pray. It helps in releasing that heavy burden inside. Laughter too can raise your spirit. It also helps if you can confide your feelings to somebody you trust.

When I feel depressed, I normally sleep or cry. I'll cry for hours. Haha. Sometimes all you need is a good cry. Once I'm done crying, that's when I normally fall asleep. If I STILL feel depressed, even after I have fallen asleep, I try and watch a movie and see if that helps. I also end up reading quite a bit too during this time.

When I am upset I go for a walk or ride my bike. Sometimes if I am really upset I will just walk to a nearby bike trail and sent on a bench for a few hours. It helps to calm me down.
Sleeping also helps tremendously.
