$ 5 for a headache

A website is forcing everyone to give up their cell phone numbers in a so called survey before they can earn their 50 cents for the day. I think you might earn 5.00 for the phone number. I am not positive about that. If so I wonder what the owner of the sites gets for your phone number? Tell me is it worth the headache? For me it is not. Imagine the phone disruptions in your day for advertising or someone trying to sell you something or persuade you into purchasing some holiday for 300.00 that you will not be able to afford the air flight for anyway. Is 5.00 worth your phone number? So what if you get even 5.00 a day until you have given it to every new company asking for it. Is it worth it to you?

If you give your number and have to reply to a text your more than likely going to entering a contact where they will keep taking money off your cell phone on a regular basis costing you more money than they are giving you. I wouldnt bother if you ask me. Not worth the time so I would just leave there.
You will gain a phone bill, headache and annoying phonecalls all day at ANY giving time of the day. Or you could use an old mobile phone and just switch it off.

I think I know which site you're talking about and I don't like to give my phone number out to anyone, especially my cell phone numbers. I have a pay as you go cell phone and can't afford to have people calling me and making long sales pitches.
I also don't like that the site you mentioned is calling them "surveys" and not "offers". I don't know the legality of that.

I do not do anything that requires me to give out a cell. I have a tracfone, that is pay as you go, and I do not intend to pay for those types of calls. Someone told me that for those he puts 555-1212, which is the information phone number.

No. I would never give my phone number out to do a survey. Many people do though. I have read enough horror stories on here to know better than to do this.

I agree. Don't think it's worth $5.00 a day to give anyone my cell number when I have no clue what they are going to do with it. I had problems getting onto Facebook without giving them my cell so I gave them my husband's cell number with his approval. He won't let anyone get by with anything and he wasn't a bit concerned.

First, I'm using a mobile phone for personal purposes only. I will not use it to sign for anything else. The only website that ask for my number which I have given is chikka.com.:) Where I can send and receive text from the internet to my mobile phone or vice versa.:)
It is very inconvenient when you gave your number to just anyone. You'll never know who will b calling you anytime, and I mean, ANYTIME.:(

i'm personally is a active survey taker.
i've never heard of a site like this.
interesting, but idk, i'll have to look into a site like that.
but you can always ignore calls that you don't know.
so it would be as if they are running up for home or cell phone bill.
but idk. interesting though!

You're absolutely right. Giving the telephone number is a very bad idea. If you do, many people will call you to sell needless things. This situation is main reason for headache. Everybody should stay away from this sites!..
