What do you do to calm down after a rough day?

Maybe the boss yelled at you. The kids have been bouncing off the walls. Your car broke down on the way to a job interview in a foot of snow. Bills are due and you misplaced your paycheck on the way to the bank. When you've had a hell of a day, what do you to to calm down and relax? Long bath? Visit a special retreat for quiet time? Me, personally, I vent all of my frustrations into Microsoft Word and then hit delete. Afterwards, I take a long, hot shower and make some tea. Once I am calmed down, I work on tackling the issue that ticked me off. Some cases, such as a blowout with the significant other, take a little bit more time to calm down from.

Yea it really works for me, I have a small house so I have it outside, the only thing about that is when it rains. Even though I would love to work out in the rain I don't want the bag to get wet. lol

When I need to calm down, I sleep. The sleep process helps us reorganize the information that we have taken in. That is why it is recommended that we study the night before a test rather than the morning of, and why when faced with a decision we are told to "sleep on it." I wake up with a better solution and in an improved mood.

I sit here on the couch playing with my puppy dogs and working on stuff online. Sometimes, I just come home and take a nap.

I just love getting home and making myself something nice to drink, then having a nice cool(summer)/warm(winter) shower. And then I just veg out and do nothing of real importance.
