Traffic and housing problems in major cities could be solved by moving large companies and factories and their employees to the countryside. To what extend do you agree or disagree with this opinion? These days with increasing urban population, there are major problems with congestion and not only the price, but also availability of accommodation in large cities of the world. It seems that one possible solution could be to relocate large companies and factories as well as their employees out of these urban areas and into more rural ones.

It's simply because of the economic infrastructure, access to labor, the network of roads, easy access to port facilities and warehouses or supermarkets for the sale of goods and services that would make relocating large companies, their factories and employees to the countryside difficult. It is for these reasons too that traffic and housing problems escalate in major cities. Having all these factories and those which provide affiliated goods and services in industrial zones served with its own network of roads and other infrastructure would help ease traffic congestion. The proximity to a nearby residential town would help to ease up some of the housing problems.

Yes it would be difficult to completely relocate companies and factories to rural areas. With the examples you stated, I think it could help and somehow answer problems concerning in the big cities like traffic and housing.

Hi louie847, here traffic and housing problems in major cities do become more serve. Might be it's rather easy to earn livelihood in major cities therefore most of the people move to the downtown areas. We couldn't deny that it's more opportunity to earn more income compared to that in under-developed town or areas for sure. The more pouring in people to the busy cities the much heavier the traffic of the prosperous cities would be definitely. Of course the housing problems become serious as well for the great demand of dwelling places needed generally followed by the overflowing of comers who pursuing for livelihood or wealth in such cities. Moreover there are countless of immigrants sneaking in to the major cities illegally I hope the authorities concerned will strengthen the measures to get such severe problems resolved. To reconstruct the traffic systems or build more spacious roads with more lanes. To limit vehicles moving in certain roads in downtown area to prevent heavy congestion. Tall buildings with more units built for the residents, etc. Happy posting

It can not be denied that there are much opportunities of finding jobs in the city rather than in the rural areas. That is why major cities are getting more busier and finding places to live. Hopefully these kind of issues will be resolve.

Well Louie... one of the reasons why major companies and factories are in city is the availability of labour. I don't think that moving the companies is a good solution... I think there should be better management of traffic in the city and should have good public transport system.. The location of a company is strategically decided... depending upon the need of the company...
