H Peykat..I love sauces. When I was in culinary school, the months we spent on sauces was one of my favorite parts of training. I have a sauce for just about everything. Lately I've been into making fresh summer fruit sauces (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, etc) I play with them, puree them, combine them, you name it..I love mangos too and have a huge tree in my yard. Unfortunately, this summer, the mangos were a big disappointment. They were small, no bigger than apples and although very sweet, the size was a bummer. I did manage to make lots of things with them just the same, including ice cream which is do die for! I'm very interested in your Alamang sauce and wonder if you could share it with me. I will add you as friend and maybe you could pm it to me along with some tips on what else to do with it. I love to exchange recipes with other cultures and countries and would be thrilled if you would share some stuff with me. I, of course, would be happy to share with you anything you could possible want! I am trying to write a cook book but don't know if it will ever publish. Its fun just to do it however and I think I have written down every single thing I have ever made!! Lots of work, millions of notes! Let me know if you could share the sauce with me, I would really appreciate it..Thanks.

For me, "Mang Tomas" is the best sauce for anything fried like chicken or fish.

I haven't heard of "Alamang" , is it spicy hot type? I like many different kind of sauce, except fresh fruit, I eat almost everything with sauce. Fish sauce, soya sauce, ketchup, mushroom sauce, onion and garlic sauce... the list goes on and on. Just to narrow it down, I like curry sauce with rice, cheese sauce with spaghetti, mango sauce with desserts, the best. XP.

Well eating bagoong with calamansi as a sauce for fish and meat is my favorite sauce. I like bagoong when it's fried with garlic and onion.

Hi. Peykat. I have never heard of this type of sauce before. It sounds yummy. My favorite sauce is hot sauce and honey mustard. I also love duck sauce and tartar sauce too. They are do delicious when I will eat them on many types of foods.

Toyo is my favorite sauce - it can work with almost anything. You can add some calamansi and you get toyomansi, or a little sugar and bawang for meat marinades, or some sili for more zest to your meal! It's one of those sauces/condiments that I can't live without in my kitchen :)

I think "alamang" is anchovies. My favorite is "toyomansi" that is soy sauce with calamansi or calamondin. Works well with fried anything!

I don't know about alamang, but the best sauce for me would be tomato ketchup(I am sure everyone would agree with me on this). Other than tomato ketchup and tomato sauce, i use soy sauce, oyster sauce, worcestershire sauce etc and few homemade sauces that I make myself, I use them quite often whenever I cook.
