Hi mylot friends, yesterday my rating was 9 and this the rating which i had since i joined here, but today i logged and saw that my rating dropped to 8, which is really strange since i don't write any offensive materials here and i always express myself in a manner which is not going to hurt anyone. Did someone here had this kind of experience and was it important to you? What can I do to get back my rating?

Hello,Linoxy! Yes,I had same experience few days a go,even I'm a very nice woman(lol)and even I tried always to help people if I know answers for their questions.I'm always very polite(not only here,in myLot) and my discussions don't break the rules! But seems like here,in myLot are people who give you a negative rate just for fun! This is very bad and make me angry :)! Don't worries! If you keep posting in the same manner ,your rating will increase! I hope that my answer help you!Have a nice day!

Hi thebest1, i still can not understand why would anyone rate you if they don't like what you said. I never rated anyone negatively just because i did not like his/hers oprinion. And yes :), I will post and eventually the rating will go back :). Have a nice day.

hi linoxy sometimes we are right on the edge like between 9 and 8 so if your rating drops one point you go to 9 or again if it raises two points you will be back at nine. I have had that happen to me over and over as while we all should have read all the information mylot adims provided there are still some people here who minus wrongly just because the poster's views were not their views. mylot says no do not minus someone just because their viewpoints differ from yours.Either these people who minus us wrongly are just plain mean hearted or they misunderstood when you should minus. I never minus as if the discussion is really that bad I will just report and leave it to mylot admins. the only thing you can do in any way is to always rate others yourself and just keep doing the great job you are doing. my rating is important to me in a way as mylot admins says that they do use our ratings andour postings to figure out how much they will pay us, and a higher rating means more earnings for us. good luck you will soon get your 9 back.

I HATE hearing that people have left negatives for people just because they dont like what the person writing was saying. That is not how mylot works and that is wrong. Just because someones opinion differs from yours doesnt make it wrong and doesnt make it a bad post. People do negatives just to be mean sometimes. It happens a lot on gather to. I dont even pay attention to my ratings and rankings. It doesnt have anything to do with how much we earn as far as I know so I'm not worried about it. I know earlier my score in the star was at a 10 because I happened to see another artcle talking about it and checked. I didnt even know what this meant until today.

Hi Hatley, I've seen someone else before, saying the same thing that our ratings have a influence on how much we are paid. I've searched the FAQs and I haven't found anything explicit about this matter. I've asked the other user the same question I ask you now: Do you have a proof for this or it's just a supposition?

You know, binggaling, I've read that part of the FAQs many times, but I didn't interpret it this way. I think that it says you will earn more for a certain response or comment if it gets positive ratings. I mean, you will earn more with it than with one with negative ratings or one with no ratings. I don't think that when they say "The DRS is factored into our proprietary earnings algorithm" they actually refer to the user's reputation. I can't believe that a user with a blue or red star is paid more than a user with a purple or green star, no matter what they post.

Hi linoxy, I understand how you feel. Never mind, keep on writing in the same manner as you would and always make sure that they are positive. I'm sure your rating will get back to 9 or even 10! Don't care about those people who rate down your comments or discussions just for the fun of it. Something similar will happen to them also and I'm sure the Mylot admin is watching them very closely. If they game the system, they should just be kicked out. So, no worries. As long as you've done nothing wrong, so be it. Those people will have a taste of their own medicine if they carry on like this.

Hi JudgeIron, I never offend anyone and never will, anything else is opinion, and no one should rate me based on my own opinion (if it doesn't proclaim hurting other people or criminal activities). Ratings do not supposed to be on a liking base, but on usefulness. I will continue to post my own opinions, and if someone doesn't like that, that is not my problem :)

Yeah this is something that just happens here on my lot. Some people think its funny to lower somones rating just because they feel like it and it's fun for them.It make no sence to do that if the content does not offend the person or is breaking any guidelines. These are the kinds of people here on my lot that are ruining our experience on here.I hope that they stop this childish behaviour and stop ruining other peoples accounts that they put tons of effort and time into.

Hi SilverKing, yes you're absolutely right that this is childish behavior and I can not understand why anyone would be happy if someones rating drops just because i don't really know a reason. I suppose they do not have other better thing to do.

Hi Linoxy! I experienced this twice. Two weeks ago my rating dropped 1 point. I was disappointed but took it as a matter of course. It also happened that I didn't participate much due to my workload in the office. I thought that was the reason. Two days ago my rating went up again. I was active again at that time. But today, my rating dropped again 1 point. I don't understand why this happens but again, I just take it as a matter of course. Though I wish we would know when we get a negative rating from other members. I just would like to know why and be able to understand.

Hi figurativeme, I don't think that ratings have anything to do with activity since I was active these days at mylot. However, you're absolutely right when you say that it is just a matter of course :). On the rating part, I wish I knew when anyone rates my post too.

Many people have low ratings on here, it's not unusual. Some people like you and other people don't, but it's no reason to get you down.

You have nothing to do but be yourself and do what you had been doing before your reputation dropped. It's true, the reputation seems to go up much slower than it goes down, but, with patience, you'll reach your red star again. Me, too, I had first a yellow star with an eight in it. Then, overnight, my yellow star turned itself into a purple one, with a six in it. I was like mad! How could it happen? I gathered myself and continued what I was doing, and my reputation went slowly to the nine I have now. I wish you success!

hi inu1711, I'm very happy to know that you reached again your reputation, so after a bit reconsideration I too decided that I will continue with what I did here :) I however wish that my rating would not fall more than this.
