Do People Who Kill Themselves Go To Hell?

I'm just wondering. I have always grown up thinking that people who commit suicide go to hell, but then, when reading the Bible... I find no evidence of this at all. If a person has lived a Christian life, and believed in God and loved God and kills themself, would they go to Hell? I mean, they say that when a person kills themselves they cannot be held accountable because it was a desperate act of insanity (they meaning scientists are saying this), but from any perspective, I would like to hear!
Is it an act of insanity and if so, would that mean that they don't go to Hell?
I'd love to hear your opinions! :)

My Dear Julia ~ Nobody goes to Hell! Indeed there is no such place, and even if were only Catholics would go there. (I'm only kidding) After you have had a bit more experience with Christianity you will learn moderate your fears and loosen up. Yes its not very intelligent to take your own life, but in the end you will just get to relive it all over again. Perhaps the next time you will get it right. Don't worry about such things, relax and enjoy this wonderful life!

Hell cannot be proven or dis proven while Reincarnation is a provable fact. Hypnotherapy is a proven practice used every day to cure disease and mental illness generated in a past life. There are countless documented occurrences of young children remembering their most recent lives, including their place of birth, their siblings names, and many other traceable events, which can be found, checked out, and discovered to be factual. This unquestionable truth is hard to disprove, and Christianity has nothing like it! (except faith)

No they do not go to hell because there is no hell. They go back to pure positive energy which means all negative they were dealing with including feelings is released.

O yer they do.
the bible says thou shall not kill and this is a mortal sin and taking your own precious life is a very bad thing.
And the answer to your question first of all if a person lived a christain life and believed in Gog then there no way in hell that hes gonna kill himself because his bible cannot and will not tell him that.

Murder.
Every generation has its own rules
And in the past it was really something else you know.
David and those men of old had to kill who wanted to kill them, murder threats to isreal and all.it was an eye for an eye.
But all things changed when Jesus came.
He made all things new and also the rules for the generation changed too.
From my own understanding, those people yoou mentioned be it a sickness of the head or not would definitively not enter the kingdom,
But i dont have the final say you know,God has it .
So we ll never know. We ll just keep arguing.

You're not seeing my point. My point is what about mental illnesses? In the original post, I am talking about how it is showing that there are signs that people who successfully kill themselves were in a literal state of insanity at the time. And yes, you're right, but Jesus did not go into Hell, He went into Hades, which is a very different thing (as is made clear in Revelation) and I think He took David up to Heaven, considering God called David a man after His own heart. But God was calling a MURDERER a man after His own heart, so the murder theory, I think, is moot.
And a lot of acts that Christians commit are not "acts of Christianity", but they're still saved, because we're not saved by ACTS but by FAITH.

I didn't think we were arguing, I thought we were discussing ;P
And you say that every generation has its own rules, but then that's contradicting that the Bible is a rule in and of itself. I found this link really helpful:

It is basically saying that the Bible is silent on this issue but that the only two unforgivable sins are rejecting Christ and blasphemy. Nothing else is unforgivable. ALL sins are the same in the eyes of the Lord. So I really do think whether or not they go to heaven or hell has to do with their lives and whether they had a relationship with God. Check out the link if you have time. It is kind of arguing both of our points :)

hmm ok i give you an opinion about your title ,so every religion has a different comment about this but i think if people kill themselves, why? what is the reason? they give up easily because broken heart or maybe something cases, but how can they give up easily ,there's a people who really feel much pain worst than pain they can eat a much of nutrition food, but why dont they take a chance to life if they can i ever have a friend that he get a cancer in brain and now he left..and i think the people who kill themselves will go to hell

maybe thats why god put our heads over our head to think soundly.but if a person thinks its the best way to end his/her life, we should not question it.life maybe beautiful for some but if others may think its not its their own line of reasoning.give them the liberty to live and end their life as they wish for.if they maybe in heaven or hell, whats important is that they choose the path to it....a strong person may continue living but if a weak heart chooses to rest let it be...

I tried killing myself once, but that was just the psychotic part of me being a teen ager. I tried cutting my pulse with a knife. So stupid of me. I think people who try to kill themselves are just out of their minds and it depends maybe, if in purgatory they will accept their excuse killing themselves. =)
