Iran's Nuclear Power Station Attacked by Worm

Just saw on the Fox News site that Iran has been attacked by a serious new computer worm that is specifically designed to take control of industrial complexes. This is very scary due to the volatility in the region and the risk of nuclear radiation being spread if the worm were to gain control. Very scary indeed, since Iran has so many enemies and the fact that Israel is near by. The worm could cause an explosion and be disastrous for many innocent people living near by. I hate that people sit around and make these viruses and worms that reek havoc on the world's computer systems. What a waste of talent, time and resources.

It would have been better if the worm was specifically to attack Iran's nuclear system and none other, and shut it down without doing any other damage, but by making it to attack control of all industrial complexes, I thought what if the attackers had a beef against England, or the States or even Canada (Suspenseful says "we Canadians are such nice people, why would anyone go after us? But i guess some people do not like niceness. ). Shutting something down when you suspect that the ones who built the system were going to use it for war, is good, but not if as a result innocent people are going to be harmed. Besides if it is shut down quietly they would assume it is their error and would not suspect it is due to hackers.

Iran is in the news saying the U.S. was responsible for the worm infecting their systems at the nuclear site. The worm seems to have only affected the personal computers there and not the nuclear site's main systems.

That's technology. People use them in the wrong way. If they can only do or create something good for the world like the movie "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs", he tried inventing a machine that could process food with the clouds. very nice kiddie movie. Anyway, virus developers won't even mind if they kill millions or even billions of people, they only think of their businesses, they could've sold their anti-virus software to Iranians in billion dollar cost. That will instantly make them a billionaire!

Yes, it is definitely all about the money. I saw on the news how software companies specifically try to hire these scum ball hackers to work for them since they have the know-how and experience working with the viruses. Then we, as consumers, go out and buy the latest and most expensive virus protection software; in which we have no idea that was crafted by the same shady people who make viruses in the first place. What a scam!

This is probably the work of some enemy country hackers and honestly i dont blame the people for doing it. Anyways since if this really happens and disaster struck then it would affet many inocent people and i dont really want that to happen. They will fix it in no time as this looks like a national problem.

I agree with you, worms are a waste of talent time and resources but I don't believe for a second the power station is being attacked by one. If it was theres no way in hell the Iranian authorities would let the rest of the world know as it would strengthen the worlds resolve to stop them developing nuclear arms and the world would probably attack them. If this was truly on the news its more than likely American propaganda in order to make the American people feel just about their Government and Country going to war with Iran, sounds like Iraq all over again. I hope saying that doesn't offend any American people reading it as that is not my intent.

Actually check out this web page from this website (MyLot), it says the virus was designed by a wealthy organization. I havent read it all yet, just thought you may find it interesting. http://www.mylot.com/w/newsarticle/25103940.aspx

That is terrible hopefully we can stop the virus before any innocent people are harmed or killed. That is a waste of time, talent, and resources I agree with you on that it is pointless to make viruses that cause so many problems for people globally.

hi rallon this is really disturbing news. Nuclear radition is always a threat anyway and this might really trigger it too.I too despise people that make these virus and worms, why do this, what does it gain them, just to hurt others? Why? this is senseless.
