Are you like me in the sense that you hate the cold and want to leave?

I mean for the winter months, and go somewhere warm.
Snowbirds, retired people, they usually go south for the winter to get away from the cold.
I wish I could do the same thing for 6 months of the year, just to get away from it all.
I can't stand the cold, haven't liked it in years now, and really wish I lived somewhere warmer.
Work would be much easier if I didn't have to freeze my rear end off going out in it, all hours of the day and night.
I would love to have the money to just get away from it and come back when it's over.
Not everyone likes the winter and I'd like to know how many people are like me.

Hello Kris. Canadian winter is really extremely cold, freezing temperatures. One has to be very careful, going outside, driving along the city roads and highways. If I have the chance, I go south to warmer places or travel away to tropical countries. "Winter Escape" as it is known.

I would leave too, but I don't have a passport, nor the means to do so right now.
I'd probably go to Florida or maybe even Arizona because it's so hot. Not sure though.

I understand how you feel. I live in Northeast Ohio and we have some bitter cold winters here. I really hate it as well and my parents also hated it.... until they moved to Myrtle Beach to get away from it LOL. When I was a softmore in high school my parents and I moved to Myrtle Beach to get away from the winters. It was fun for a while but it wasn't "home." After graduation I moved back here to the bitter cold winters on my own. I still hate the cold and the snow but it's familiar and it's home and I'm with family and friends and I'll take the cold to stay here. =) Great topic.

I'm probably the opposite, but I've never been in any extreme weather. I like where I am now because I get the hot and the cold. Although today was WAY too hot, peaking at 101 degrees F. I grew up in Hawaii and I moved the CA, so I pretty much stated in the places people love to visit for vacations. I've only seen the snow once and that was in Japan. That was the only time I had to wear more then one layer of clothing. I like it cold, but not too cold, and I like it warm, but not hot. I like CA because it's warm in the day and cool at night.

I am the opposite of you! I hate the heat. I actually like winter and love the snow. Although I wish that fall and spring were longer seasons. I want to know why summer and winter have to be so long? Anyways, I can not stand the heat. I am so happy it is finally fall and almost winter where I live. During the summers it feels like we have a lot of heat streaks throughout the entire summer. Even this week we had some hot days. Today it was a bit rainy but I didn't even care because it was not that hot. The heat makes me miserable, moody, and sweaty. I would rather have snow outside, wear jackets, and be cold than have fans going, ac running, and be hot. I guess everyone is different in this situation. It seems like the past few summers have been miserable for me and I feel like every summer gets hotter and hotter. I used to like summer somewhat but don't at all anymore. I feel like this past summer lasted forever. My mom used to love summer and she doesn't even like it anymore because of the heat. I am just happy that winter is almost here!

Coming from a tropical country, I think I wouldn't be able to survive long in your country. I know some friends who came back to our country when winter came. They said they could not stand the cold weather. I don't think I will fare any better. If you come to our country, I think you wouldn't be spending much since you would find everything here very cheap.

I guess I'm the opposite. I was born and raised in Texas that now live in Florida because of my husband being in the Navy.
I hate the heat. Even our winters still arent freezing. I would choose freezing over sweating my butt off any day.

No way. I enjoy the changing seasons and always look forward to cold weather. I hate the heat and hate to have to be outside when it's hot. I look forward to putting on my snowboots and heavy coat and hat and mittens and going for a walk in the snow... I can hardly wait!

Hi Kris..I'll tell you what. I live in South Florida, Ft Lauderdale to be exact. I am so sick of summer weather all the time and would LOVE to spend a winter in the snow and cold. How about if you and I swap places for 6 months?? I'm game if you are!!

All my life I have been wanting to see & feel snowflakes. We got no winter from where I am. I haven't got the chance to live in a country with a winter season. And until now I'm still wondering what it would be like -- but really more on what would it feel like wearing all those winter fashionably pretty warm clothes! :) I really do think it looks sooo cute & cozy and warm, I guess that's from my perspective then. I sure am looking forward to next year as I think next year's my chance to see, feel and embrace winter.
I hope it's really not that bad as to what you're really wanting to get away from. Yeah, i haven't really given it much thought though, I guess i can now imagine how hard it is to go to work when it's snowing all over.

I have lived in IL since birth and today I was saying Oh gosh it is getting cold. See the weather here in the winter can get as cold as 30 degrees below zero. I have tolerated my whole life and well now I am sort of not wanting to anymore.
So as you I wish I could pack up and go somewhere where it is warm all the time. brrr cold now as I type.

I am living in a country where there is no winter. I wish to live somewhere colder, however, I don't think I can stand the cold. Maybe I can go to a place where there is winter, but not exactly live there because I have a weak lungs ever since I was a child and I tend to get colds easily. It will be nice to see snow and try skiing but living in a place like that for a long time is not my thing too...

I am completely like you--I hate the cold and have seen enough snow to last a lifetime. I REALLY want to be able to escape the cold Northeast winters and go somewhere like Arizona or New Mexico for the winter months. But, I have young kids and can't uproot them during the school year, and I am married to someone who hates the heat and loves the cold. So, for now I am stuck here, but when it is time to retire, I am finding a way for us to spend some time AWAY from the cold!

I absolutely hate Michigan winters. The air gets cold and dry which does a number on my skin. I am also constantly cold and have to take 2 hot showers per day just to stay warm. In the January the temperature can easily get into the sub zero mark.
I'd move to Texas if I had the resources to do so
