This is one thing I don't like in my company. We have to work even if it's a holiday. I envy my husband who is working in a bank. If it is a holiday, it follows they don't have to go to work. Yeah, you get paid double or have additional day-offs for coming to work, but hey, it's still a holiday, you should be spending it with your family. I remember last year, some of my co-workers spent the New Year at the office because they have to close the books for the calendar year 2009. What a way to celebrate the New Year. How about you do you also have to work on a holiday?

yeah i do work in the holidays... since im a nurse hahaha but anyway that means you get double pay and you will reap the fruit of your labor on paydays and your workmates will say "man i should have worked on the holidays." believe me it happends a lot ^^

Luckily, I am working from home so no working days or even holidays. They are the same for me.
But of course if you talk about my job, I do not recognize holiday because as a journalist and author you have to type and submit your articles even during holiday.

work overtime on a holiday, very annoying .. in my country, Indonesia, if companies want their employees to work on a holiday, the company must pay 2 X folding of overtime on weekdays.
I never work overtime on a holiday, even if forced, I prefer to ask for permission with a variety of reasons

WORK ON A HOLIDAY????
That really sucks if you ask me. I mean i don't generally work properly on a weekday itself and when it comes to weekend then i would rather stay at home and surf the net or just hangout with my friends than work. My mom always complains that i am always spending a lot of unnecessary time on system and that i should concentrate more on books. But hey it's party time when it's weekend!
Cheers!
