Do you trust online banking? Have you tried doing bank transactions online? Online banking has been very convenient as it helps you do away from going to bank and queuing before you can finish your transactions. Transactions are accomplished just by clicking and what used to take hours now you can be accomplished in seconds. There are still transactions that needs to be done personally just like depositing or opening an account but stuff like bills payment, fund transfer and the like can now be done online. Some are afraid to go online for fear that online banking may not be secure. What do you think? Do you support online banking? or do you discourage it? Please share your view and opinions about it. Thanks. :D

Online banking is much like physical banking in the sense as that I would trust a bank that I would know is secure with my money with little apprehension. Just like if I would go up to the bank, I would hope that when my money goes in or goes out, it will be done safely and there would be no breaks in security. There would be steps taken to keep those who should not have any access to my money not having access to my money. Heavy security to say the very least.
I do believe that is a bit more of a concern online however. Still if you are careful and keep your computer protected from intrusion, than half of the battle is won. Keep your passwords safe and don't give them out. Log out immediately after your business is done. Online banking is half the security on the website and half the steps you make to make it safe. Therefore, as long as I am doing a good job at keeping safe and with a place that I trust, I do in fact feel safe.

Hi megamatt! Thanks for your nice response. What you said is very true. First, we should carefully choose a trusted and reliable bank. Second, we should keep not only our account secured but also our passwords must be secured and protected. Aside from protecting our passwords we must also log out properly especially if we are not using our own personal cellphones, laptops or computers. I like the line "online banking is half the security." That is so precise. We should not merely rely on the security measures of the bank, we should also practice safety and precautionary measures when we do online banking.
Thanks again for your response. Have a good day and happy myLotting! :D

I do online transactions all the time. I also like online shopping especially the shipping is free. I hate to pay huge amounts of shipping. I always transfer money to my different accounts and move money from checkings to savings. It saves a lot of time other than going to a bank and waiting in queue for a long time. I don't like the idea of writing checks.

I have been doing online banking for a year already. I pay my credit card bills through the internet as I can access my bank account online and order payment for my bills. Its hassle free. I can also transfer money from one account to my checking account which saves me a lot of effort. Practically the only thing I cannot do is deposit money to my bank since I have to personally deliver the money to the bank for deposit. Other than that, its all online and hassle free. I do believe that its safe for as long as you know how to handle your online set up.

Hi jpso. Thank you for your response. I am glad to hear that you are also enjoying the benefits of online banking. Indeed it is hassle free, fast and very convenient. Good for you! You can transfer funds to your checking account. Unfortunately, the bank with whom I have my checking account does not offer online banking as one of their services so I still have to personally transact in the bank whenever there is a need to do so. Like you, I also deposit personally and the rest would be accomplished through online banking like paying bills and doing fund transfers. And yes, online banking is safe as long as you know how to handle your online set up and you should also know how to protect your online account especially your password.
Thanks for replying. Have a good day and happy myLotting! :D

Hi vbpujara! Thank you for your response. A lot of us now are using online banking. Somehow banks offering this service and feature in their websites guarantees our account's security. Still we have to practice safety measures such as protecting our passwords. Indeed, banking activities are more convenient with the introduction and upsurge of online banking. Life has become easier for busy people like us. Thanks again for your reply. Have a good day and happy myLotting! :D

I've been banking online for a long time and I have had no problems other than there being too much traffic sometimes and so my session cuts out.
This feature while it is annoying also shows me the high level of security and protection there is and that feature outways any inconvenience.

Well, I'm still on the fence on that one. I haven't signed up my bank online yet but I have been thinking about it. My daughter pays all her bills online through her bank and she says it's pretty safe and it's easy. So I have been thinking about it but still a little wiery about it.
I know lots of people do their banking online, even my mom who is 75 years old. I get laughed at by my family and friends because I still do things the old way and am not very smart when it comes to the internet and the computer.
I just signed up with facebook, that's how far behind in times I am. I don't like the site though because I find it's for nosy people and it's just not for me.
I am sure that some day I will do my banking online too, just not till I am ready.
Cheers my friend,
Chris

I use online banking all the time. It is really convenient, and it makes my life a lot easier, because I do not have to go to the bank all the time.

As far as I know, I have no problem with online banking. Nearly all my banking activities are now handled from my internet. I don't need to go out to deal with many things, only if I would like to store my money then I will go to the bank directly.

Hi Ramaditya :D That's what I usually do, too. I personally deposit in my bank and when the need arises or during due dates, I pay my bills online or send money to my family through the fund transfer feature of the bank. Online banking is a big help to us indeed. I guess you will also agree with me if I say online banking is really a blessing to busy people like us. I can also view my previous transactions online, hence, it is possible for me to verify or double check my account whenever I wanted to do so even without personally going to the bank. I hope this feature will also be available even for overseas banks.
Thank you for your response. May you have a good day and happy myLotting. :D

I do trust online banking with my accounts as I use a big name bank that everyone knows so that if anything did go wrong i know i could go to a branch and get it sorted out. I have had a few random emails from a bank i do not have an account with, and i reported this to the bank so they stopped it.

Hi Chillpill90...thank you for your response. Yes, its reassuring when you bank with companies with reliable and trusted names. I myself choose the banks with whom I banked with. Its a good thing you were able to report the unwanted emails from the banks with whom you don't have an account at all. They are probably spam mails only. Thanks for replying and happy MyLotting! :D

I have been using online banking now for many years and have had no problems at all with it.
I cannot imagine now how I would manage without it!
I find it perfect for me to send money instantly to my daughter ( who lives 60 miles away0 by funds transfer straight to her bank.
I have never felt worried or insecure at all with my online banking.

Hi oldchem1, I totally agree with you. I have been doing online banking for almost six years now and so far I haven't encountered any problems with it, too. It is really convenient especially the fund transfer feature because it is on time and real time. It's like actually handing over the cash to the recipient, right? It also save us the time and effort of going to the banks to do just one transaction. It is really a good thing online banking is now available for us. I hope other banks will also include this feature in their services. Thank you for your response. Good day and happy myLotting. :D

Hi thebest1! I also trust online banking but I also exercise some safety measures. Like you I also change my password from time to time. And every time I transact I also see to it that the amount reflected and the recipient are correct. I do appreciate online banking because banking has become easier and convenient. Sometimes technology does make life easier so long as it is not abused or used illegally. hehehe. Thanks for your response. Have a good day and happy myLotting!

I have been using online banking for years and now I do not know how I ever got along without it. I most certainly do feel that the service is very secure and I would never go back to the old way of writing checks or standing in line.

I often use the online banking because most of the time it's very crowded in the bank. I don't want waste my time to wait for it. Although nothing can be 100% safe, but I still use online banking. I think the bank will try the best to provide us the security and protection for our accounts.
I love China

No. I don't trust banks in general anyway. I need an account to cash my checks so I bank because I have to. I hope not to have to use online banking, but I don't think in the future I will be able to get around it.

I believe with online banking. Because this is very easy to me. I do not need to go to the Bank. I also do not need to queue. I think online banking, safe enough. The bank would have to use good security, and we also have to be careful in using online banking, especially when in public places. So far I have never had a problem and excellent security. I hope that will not find a problem with online banking.

I love online banking. It is so convenient to pay my bills, transfer money, and check my account at any time. However, I do have concerns about hackers. Other than that concern, I highly recommend using the online banking services provided by your local bank or branch.

I don't use online banking. I pay all my bills over the phone. I have been doing it that way for years before I had a computer, and I feel no need to change. It is still convenient and doesn't take nearly as much time. All you need is access to a phone and your list of companies that you pay. I was in the hospital a few years ago, and I could pay my bills from there. If I had on-line banking I would not have been able to do that. Plus sometimes your computer goes down and then if something is due you would have to mail it in. I am not sure about the safety of on-line banking either. I am not going to change the way I pay my bills anyway, safe or not.
