Do you get tired of those who preach and don't practice

I am at a turning point in my faith walk
I am really turned off by people of my faith.
I hear so much about love and doing for others but
those who are recipients of that love and care are
a priveledge few.
Some people give more flowers and attention to
statues then they do to living human beings.
They will spend an hour saying "amen" but
wont spend a few minutes to say "how are you"
Jesus was a man of action but never was a
man seeking aplause.
Some people I feel go to church just to
put on a show and put on costume
They worry more about the meetings then
the poor and needy.
They feel their church is the only way and
if you say you are considering a different way
of following Jesus they tell you your soul
is going to hell.
I was recently told by one of my family members
that I was "excommunitcated" for voting a certain
way in a political campaingn.
WHile people say do not kill the unborn..they are
all for killing the living .. just because they are no
babies.
Why is it wrong to read the bible love Jesus and
not commit to any faith? After all ..there is so much
hypocrisy and lies.
I watch the faith I embrace where only a priveleged
few get a special role in the church..
Sigh..just letting off steam

yeah i know way too many people like this. i tell them jesus dont care what you are or what you belive. and it say in the bible in roman 99 thy dont have to go to church to be saved or reborn. thy dont have to go to church to worship jesus or god because they understand why you dont go church but still loves you.

before churches were erected people gathered together..
the stones don't make the church ..universality of belief
and love for one another does.. Jesus went from place to
place telling the good news and asking people to love one
another.. every prophet..told the people that sacrifices
and oblations did not please God as much as loving hearts,
concern for the widows..righting the wronged..

I use to be an everyday church goer very faithful
to my religion .. Then little by little I began to see
the hypocrisy..the cliques and the fact that there
were the select few who were always called upon for certain
things.. My faith is ever quick to spew out the
things you cannot do and the moment they are found
in wrong..there is always an excuse.. They quickly
point out who cannot belong but fail to see that
make their own actions reasons for why they shouldn't belong
either.

i tell people as long as i treat and respect others how i would want them to treat me it dont matter if i go to church, and i dont never judge anyone for what they are.
the church is a building where we can build a foundation, but often when i go to any church most think they are better then me. or i get weird looks because i have ear rings in.
but most like to preach at me about dumb things but do totally different, and when you question them why are you doing it if its wrong for me? i get i go to church on sunday and asked for forgiveness.. and then i have fun i ask "are you kidding me, to be a follower of god it is a seven day a week thing"

My dear friend I totally agree with you.We see so much hippocracy everywhere.People are not following what they preach and instead irritate others by their lectures. One should be religious but one should not force anyone to follow any religion.I have seen many people in my surroundings who are just preaching and not following a single word what they preach and teach and that annoys me a lot.I believe one must follow whatever he wishes and stop teaching others.

I agree one hundred percent..let people
pray as they desire and live as they desire as
long as it doesn't violate the rights of others..
We can teach others better by our lives then by our
words..People are tired of words..they want to see
action..."Action speaks louder then words"

Well I am surely making a statement
by staying away I suppose..but I don't
believe one is made holy by a building.

I had learned from my kids... believe in the lord that teaches us to be a good man, citizen, help one another.
Honestly, I am a free thinker whereby my kids believe in the lord.
I hardly bring them to church, cell group due to my tight schedule. (As they are in the christian school studying bible daily).
But, my kids told me that their teacher say it is ok if the time is conflicting ... they told me as long as the lord is in your heart... believe him and learn all the good thing, it is fine.....

I feel disappointed in all that you have said also, everytime I see something like this that disturbs me I remember to try not to judge and to take the stake out of my eye. This is only how I feel. There is another complaint that I have to add to your list. A few years ago I seen people in a rush to get out of church on Sunday's I believe to watch football. In my appinoin this is idolatry. It bothers me also when people ask how are you, but don't stick around to hear the answer. Our Father hears our daily complaints.
