lice, lice, lice makes the children embarassed and uncomfy. most likely they will be bullied when they attend classes. their classmates will make fun of them. do you think it's a good idea to keep these childrean with head lice out from school? why? why not?

Well taking them out of classes will cetertainly know that it may be lice that is keeping them of of school. If they do however go to classes it will be apparent that they have lice when they do the test and the kids around will know that they have lice and they will make fun of them.At least if they spend some time outside of class it could be a family matter and at least the kids can't assume lice when they don't know the reason for the absence.

I think that they could be excused for a couple of days, till the get theyr head cleaned. I got lice when i was in kindergarden for other colegue and it was not a nice experience. This is a matter of personal hygene, and if you take care of it it can be solved very quick

Hi,
From my point of view, It is best to let the child stay at home and make
sure his/her hair is cleaned, then only she/he can go back to school again,
It is for personal hygiene reason.
Your post recalled me back to my childhood. During my primary school, I
was sat with a girl who has a head lice. I did not knew about it till one
day , I felt my head is very itchy and keep scratching. Then I told my mom
about it and she suspected I got head lice.
My mother did a proper checking and found there were some lices on my hair.
Oh Gosh...what to do? my mother and my auntie help me clean up my hair and make
sure the lices are taken away from my head.
It is pretty terrible experience for me.
At last, my mother has to inform the teacher to change my seat ,just to protect me being attacked again by the head lice.

Is it their fault that they have lice in the hair. It will be wrong on anyones part to keep them out of school. Now a days children with AIDS are also allowed to enter the school, why not children with lice. They can provide them medicine rather than deprieve them of education for no fault of theirs.

The reason why they don't allow children with lice is because 1)it spreads very easily and quickly to others, and 2)you can get rid of it in about a week if you use the medication the right way. No, it isn't their fault that they have it, but other children need to be protected at the same time. It isn't as if they expel the children completely. They simply give them a medical leave of absence until the situation has been taken care of.

Lice is extremely contagious. If a kid goes to school with lice chances are the entire class will have it in a few days. Keep kids with lice at home until the problem has been taken care of.

hi,
for me there is no problem when our kids had lice, they can still go to school because they need it regardless if they have it or not because usually in kids having this are very normal, actually my niece had it and she is still go to school everyday.

I definitely think that it is a good idea (as well as law) to keep any known cases of head lice out of schools. When my daughter was in kindergarten, she got head lice three different times from another kid. I can't even begin to tell you how hard it was to get rid of. She has extremely thick hair, and it was down past her waist. I seriously thought about cutting it. But we both would have been heartbroken if I had done that. I think that they actually need to do more head checks in the schools than they already do. If they had, maybe my daughter wouldn't have gotten it.
