Have you read the latest Dexter novel from Jeff Lindsay's wildly popular series?

Ever since I discovered the Dexter novels, I have been hooked. Dexterphile would have been the word used to desrcibe me. I read all his books and I've seen the all of the episodes from Seasons 1 through 4 of the TV series.
I guess there is something compelling and endearing about a hero who's an anti-here. Dexter is the proverbial anti-hero. He is the serial killer of serial killers and his wit is as funny and sharp as the knives he uses for his craft.
I am still reading the new book, but I'm liking it so far.
What do you think?

Sorry, I am not into fiction anymore. I used to read them but since I graduated from college, technical books has occupied most of my reading time.
Sordid isn't it? I wish I could go back to them days of fantasy and fiction and roam the never-never land of heroes and villains.

You're missing a lot. :P But I can sort of understand where you're coming from. I've had very little time reading the books I like, not necessarily fiction, because of my work load. But reading is something I like doing so I try to make time for it.

I forgot all about Dexter, but I did have him on a reminder list somewhere. I got bored with the series during the second season and stopped watching. By then, I'd read the first book, and didn't like that the TV series was gradually trying to make him more sympathetic. The second book was good except for the supernatural slant, which I thought was a kind of copout. Now that you've reminded me, I'll have to check up on the books. I may even have missed one, besides the latest. I wouldn't read the latest one anyway until it came out in paperback or I could borrow it from the library.

I know what you mean. Dexter in the Dark is my least favorite book in the series. I hated the supernatural slant as well, but it kind of added a different perspective to his character. But it was unnecessary, if you asked me.
As for the series, the fact that it was so different from the books used to be a pet peeve of mine. But I guess it kept me occupied while I was waiting for the next installments in the books.

I have never read the book but I came across this show on tv many years ago and instantly feel in love with it. If the book is a good as the show then it must be totally amazing. For those of you who don't know what DEXTER is well your really missing something special in my eyes. Dexter on the tv show is a Police Blood Analysis working for the Maimi PD by day, but at night Dexter hunts other serial killers. So it's a serial killer hunting other serial killers basically. The tv show is on it's 6 season now and god its getting so good and very interesting.
I'm going to have to check the book out because again in my opinion this is one of the best shows I have ever seem. If anyone has not seen this check it out you wont be sorry.
