Are you a starter or a responder in Mylot?

It seems so hard to start a discussion for me. It's always been easier for me to respond to a discussion. Lately, there are so many discussions that I wish I could answer but it sure is hard to catch up. Nevertheless, I still try to answer whatever I can. But to start one? That will even take a longer time.

i also find it hard to start discussions that's why i tend to just answer them instead,i've noticed lately though that i even struggle to answer as unless the first couple of sentences grab me,maybe i should stop being so picky and just answer all the mylot emails i get

Honestly, I don't based all mylot discussions as to the emails I receive. The emails we receive are the discussions our friends started, the responses and comments we receive and of course, mylot digest. Mostly, I would comment on the responses I receive from the discussions I started which I deem polite. But that is hardly as I rarely start one. Then I would check discussions on my interests because I think i can relate to that more and thus, have something to say. After which, I would check on my friends' discussion to check if I can respond to one. I guess, just like you, I can not just keep on posting for the sake of posting.

I must say it's better to be a starter, because with out them there are no discussion, but i prefer to be a responder, for me it's hard to start somthing you dont know who will response, thier are two ways to response positive and negative, mostly negative, you'll just filt bad about it.

I'm a responder myself but was able to start a few discussions, too. Please don't feel that people will respond negatively to you. There are a lot of polite members in mylot. I think I've read some people complaining about how rude some people can get. But I think there are more polite people than rude ones in mylot. There are also a lot of members who are always willing to assist others. There are even members who can only always say nice words. If I base it on your rating, you are new in mylot. Please try to explore the probabilities and you will be surprise how some people can be so accomodating at mylot.

I'm much more often a responder than a starter. Well, there are no much interesting topic come up to me. I've started a few discussions here, only not to hot. I don't spend much time at myLot, so usually I just look some discussions and try to give a respond if I can.

It is really hard to come up with a good discussion to start. Most of the time, I simply enjoy reading other people's started discussions and respond to things I can relate to.

I respond to more discussions than I start any. I find it very hard to come up with a good topic to discuss, so I would rather respond as I don't have to think about what to discuss as the discussion is already there. I have started some however, and they have responses, but not as many as I would like, but that is okay, as I realize that I just didn't make them interesting enough. I will probably start more discussions in the future, as I think of topics that others would be interested in responding to. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I guess, it really is easier to simply reply to an existing discussion than to start one. It is also a responsibility to start one since I find it proper to post a comment to all the people who find time to respond. Thanks and good luck to you too.

I am a responder in mylot. I find it very hard to write and start discussions because I dont like to think about new topics to discuss about but I would rather respond because it is just as easy as answering questions and sharing your own idea about a topic.

Finding an interesting discussion in mylot and being able to respond to it is actually fun. It is also a lot easier to be a responder than to come up with a discussion that others will enjoy.

I usually tend to be more of a responder than a starter here. Most often by searching the discussions list I can find the info or topic I am looking for. There are many good discussion threads if a few searches are made. When I am not able to find a topic or the information needed then I will post a topic. I don't feel that starting topics for every little thing is necessary, as once the topic drops off the page it tends to die out.

That's very true. There are so many discussions started every minute at mylot. I would usually go through my interests first as I find that easier to respond to. After which, I would check my friends' discussion.

I'm more the type of person who responds to discussions. I prefer responding to discussions. I prefer doing that than actually starting discussions.

No worries. It's the same here. I've only started 16 discussions but made 245 responses. I always find it easier to actually share when someone starts.

I respond to more discussions than I start because I don't have a lot that I want to discuss. I hit this site off and on throughout the day so my time is limited and I have found that I enjoy reading the discussions that other members start more than I do starting my own.

I also enjoy reading discussions here. Sometimes, I even read more than respond. Haha! But when I see a discussion where I can say something, I always try to share.

I would say that I am both pretty even. I enjoy starting discussions just with random questions that pop into my head and things like that but I also like replying to other peoples post who ask interesting questions to.I think if you look on mine and most people's profiles you see that they mostly respond. I pay attention to things like that when I go to someone's profile. Anyways yea I like to do both.

Yeah, I do check out members' profile if they interest me. But it seems like I'm really a responder than a starter of discussions. I guess, you would know that if you checked my profile.

it's all relative you know? If I have something at my mind that I really want to share I just open a new thread. But most of the times I hang out with friends at a comment box and chat all day lol

Haha! That's cool. I wish I could do the same considering I've accumulated some friends here already. But I never had a long thread of conversation with them. Maybe, I should comment more. =)

I do a bit of both, depending on how creative I am at the moment. But I respond more than I start new discussions, for sure.

That's right! It takes creativity to start a discussion because we have to come up with one that will be interesting to our fellow mylotters. Glad you're comfortable doing both.

I'm not a successfull starter of new discussion in myLot. I haven't started too many discussions until now, and that's because I don't have many ideas of interesting discussions. I do start discussions when I have something to ask or share with the friends I have here, but this hapends seldom. I saw some users that start few discussions dayly and I keep wondering where do their ideas come from? Why aren't we able to come with new ideas of interesting discussions?

There are friends in mylot who can start more than 10 discussions a day and I can't do that either. The only problem is that they don't comment after you responded which is sad too.

I'm more of a responder, but there are times that I just need to start a discussion, probably to release whatever I have in mind that I cannot tell just anyone here and stuff.

I feel the same way. I would only start a discussion when I need answers or just to vent. But the rest of the time, I would just answer discussions started by others.

I think rather than starting a discussion, responding a particular ongoing discussion is pretty easier. Because if you have thoughts on a particular topic being discussed, you can always add to the discussion. Although I am more of a responder but i do initiate discussions at times , when any query or any good thought comes to my mind.

I do much the same and share your thoughts, too. I somehow, imagine how some members can start a discussion so easily because I can't. =)

It sure is easier for me, too. It seems like it is easier to share your thoughts when a discussion is started.
