Isn't it funny how you cope to live with different beliefs? Like for example, You believe in God but still believe that Science is actually explaining stuff all around us. Like as for me, I believe in God(I'm a catholic) yet I also I believe in science, I believe in elemental beings and positive thinking. Most of them contrast with each other and sometimes violates rules, but still you tend to live with it and Wondering from time to time which is real and not. how about you?

The fact that the more our Scientists dig for the truth, the more they tend to be close to who we call GOD. Their journey of knowing is like the path towards ultimate understanding of things. What the amazing thing about that is it's paving way to a better understanding of who God is. More and more Astronomers and Scientist everyday are amazed by how things are made, how it was designed and how the process works. The existence of microorganisms, the harmonious flow of planetary systems, and the complexity of the smallest atom speaks that there is really a GOD behind this. Never forget to include Einstein here =) What does this entails? Believing in GOD and Science, if we have a better understanding, is never a CONTRADICTION. GOD and Religion are two different things. God and our beliefs are two separate things also. My stand here is simply, Religion does not equate to God. The more we understand who God is, the more we are to grasp what science can bring us. Science for me is like the key towards understanding God and his Creation. Why? Science means "to know". And what ever we understand about how things works right now, is just the tip of the iceberg of what we are supposed to know. Sooner or later, the mysteries of the unknown and the hiding truth behind things that we urge to understand will be exposed by science through its logical explanation. And this explanation will never be a contradiction to what God have taught us. Instead it's for the betterment of our understanding of who He really is. Praise be the Lord. I myself is amazed by my existence and I thank HIM everyday for that simple, yet stunning fact.

ha ha, i would agree to this. i mean of all the beliefs, even for me i had it all mixed up! like the beliefs i have learned or heard from my chinese parents, the stuffs they taught me, those that i see around the house.. and now that i am exposed to other people, i get to hear about their own beliefs, etc.. and it just adds to the confusion! :P

yes, I agree with you. it tends to be confusing when you get to know other beliefs right? like.. why the hell would they believe in such things when you know this is this and that. its hard when the other says this and the other says that! my husband is chinese so I get to learn most of their beliefs. and whenever I don't want to follow I'll just say, I don't believe in that kind of thing. then they would say, it won't be that hard if you follow and it wont cost you either if you believe. then I would say, please respect what I believe in and let it be, then i'll respect yours and let you be. pretty harsh right? I just don't want to be forced with something I don't want... eheheh! ^.^

I don't think science and believing in God is contrasting. There are many things that science cannot explained. We are in a era where science and logic are still in its infancy. Things or events that you find cannot be explained in science but God mentions otherwise is not contrasting. It is just that we haven't got to a stage where science can explain them. We haven't reach that stage yet. Yes, we are not that technological advance in the field of spiritual. I believe one day science will be able to offer logical explanation for such a field.

but compared to the supernatural things that the bible states, science can proves much much more than religion can. but as the earlier post says, it's what you believe... and believing in goodness and kindness is the best part of it. ^.^

just live life and do what you think is right, religion isn't really there for us to follow, it is there for us to learn from and guide us. Same goes with science though science are mostly proven facts already. But do remember that science doesn't have a heart, that is where what you learn from religion comes in, you use the morals from it so you won't end up like a mad scientist. That is how I live... Since religion is man-made and no man is perfect.

Great opinion SinRealm. Science is all based on knowledge and Religion is based on soul and heart. Each should work together. maybe this is why they both coexist in this world and humans are left to judge whether which one is believe and follow.

I am very confused by all the different religions and theories. Before I believed in jesus christ/the holy father and all that because thats what I was brought up to believe. Then the mormons came around wanting me to believe their way. The Jehovah's Witnesses wanted me to believe their way. Every religion thinks they are the only right way. There are so many religions I am open to learning all of them I just dont know which is right. I have come to the realization that the bible might not be all factual and that the theory of evolution sounds much normal. BUT something created everything and that is a higher power I'm just not entirely sure what it is or anything like that anymore.

It's sad that churches also contradict with their beliefs instead of just be one, since they - we all believe in ONE God right? think official on churches should work on that kind of thing.

I watched Angels and Demons, and I found an interesting line. "Science and religion are walking together." At least that was what I understood. I learn science and other knowledges to proove my belief toward Gods. So, it does not make me confused at all, because my belief came from my God, and everything in this world is God's creation, so science is one of the proof.

have you read Da vinci's code? You know, When I read the first 27 chapters of it I got scared. What they are talking about makes sense when you think about it. So I stopped because the thought of "what if I finished this book and my belief would be shaken" then I asked myself, if my faith in God is true then I will remain the same to him. After reading the book everything was clear to me.. just like what my favorite line in the book states "In the end, what matters most is what you believe in." and it's true right? no matter what they say about religion and how science merely explain or try to explain everything.. in the end its all up to you.

I wouldn't believe in anything that doesn't make sense. I am curious how you are able to do that? How are you able to believe in something when you are confused?

I still do not understand how you are able to believe in both... are you sure you believe in either of them? Maybe you feel you have to because you feel guilty if you don't? I think everyone has the right to believe in what they like, or what they can agree to, something that makes sense to them, not confuse them. Best wishes.

Well, I believe that God exist since I can feel his presences guiding me. He had save me a couple of times and had answer my prayers. Yet I believe that science explains all that religion cannot. Like for example creation of this world and the evolution. This is the very example that contrast my belief in God and my understanding of science. So questions occurs most of the time, and when that time bothers me... I would always say "oh well, at least I don't know... "

It'd be less confusing if you just believe what's comfortable for you. There are a lot of beliefs cuz people have different beliefs. It's either that or they wanted to discover something that could be proven.

Its actually very easy for me. No matter what belief I believe in, I just stick to the positive side. We are taught of the good and evil and their consequences. Therefore we have to weigh which is bad and which is good. I always prefer the good ones. Yes, I do believe in God but still believe in Science. But I choose only to believe the good parts of it.

I'm not confused at all. Jesus said you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free...as for Science...it proves the Lord! Science doesn't contradict the Word of God, it compliments it! I'm a student of science and the Word and it's pretty clear. Our problem comes when we try to justify what we 'feel' and try to make that truth...we say things like, 'truth is relative...' Seriously? In other words, if I say that a foot is measured at 5.5 inches, then I'm correct because I said so? Ridiculous...and yet, this is how people live their lives...that's why we're all jacked up

Hello Pastor! Thanks for your comment, I can't help but smile after reading your post. It's not what we are trying to understand but it's how we understand things. That's the reason why we have tons of religions in this planet. I have my full devotion to Jesus and there was not a time that I have thought having God and Science made me confused. Instead, it made me understand HIM more, Believe him More, Trust HIM more, and Praise HIM more. Isaac Newton once said that the mere existence of our thumb will prove that GOD really exist. This Scientist has a better understanding in Science compared to a normal individual like me. How can he say that? This simply says that his Faith for God and the field of Science where he is never made him confused. This is an interesting topic and I'm blessed to have the chance of expressing myself here. I owe this all to HIM. (";) Bless us all, Mike

I am not confused because I have many beliefs but they are my beliefs. I don't believe in something somebody else created. All of my beliefs originated from myself so there is no confusion. My belief system is just a network of different beliefs that I have in my own mind.

If that's the case it's easy for you since you aren't have rules to follow, just your judgement whether it is wrong or right. As for me, Since I'm a catholic sometimes it bothers me that what I believe is actually turning me into a sinner or something. ^.^

Most of my beliefs are short-lived. Quantum physics interests me. Astrology used to. I tried to get into Wicca for a while. I don't believe in God and I don't care for organized religion... The only core belief I have is "I don't know."

I also tried Wicca when I was a teenager.. out of curiosity. Although still still to protect my religion. I used to say that "oh, I'm just reading and wanted to learn but I'm a pure catholic" You see I believe in elementals, I believe because I see them sometimes. I like your core belief... it's easy that way right? what you don't know wont hurt you kinda thing! ^.^ I think that's great!

Dear niairen01, I fully agree with you, today everything is so confusing. Olden days were good when we were children. We believed everything that our parents told us and we lived in peace. But today due to advanced education and Internet, our closed minds have opened and we have started to think "HOW" and "WHY" for everything. Today we cannot answer questions that our children ask us. I believe in God, but when I see innocent children suffering, I don't understand, who God did not do any miracle to save them....I get confused.Science can prove everything but still something from inside tells us to have faith in God.......ohhhhhh, so confusing........no real solution for this confusion . we will always live in this confusion of mixed feelings.

I think those are two very different topics, sometimes people want to place one over the other. Science is what has been proved, what can be backed up with facts, what can be demostrated, what has an explanation, it has logic, it is real. Religion it's a matter of culture, we believe in God because or parents, relatives, whomever, guided us to believe in Him. By the time we grow up and are able to make decisions on our own, we might think about why do we have to believe, we are in need of something or someone to lead us spiritually or we'll just follow whatever convince us it's the better option. So in other words, in my opinion, science is real, religion is as real as one wants to believe.

Im not confused as to beliefs. I have my own set of beliefs that i believe it. Even if there are tons of beliefs out there, its still up to you if you will believe in that belief or not. As you were saying, when it comes to believing in God, you believe since you are a catholic. Fine with that. But as to explanation of why, there are many reasons after that, which could cause you to be confused. You can accept and believe all of them, but in the end you don't know what your believing at all. Or you can hear them but just believe in some. As for science and God, it really is contrast. Science is based on hard facts, while God is not. You should be clear on this matter. Else the rest will really confuse you

For me...I BELIEVE in GOD, more than anything else ..existing in this world without him or even knowing him yet neglect in any ways is like saying "I DON'T KNOW...ME," living a LIFE WITHOUT GOD has NO DIRECTION and it's useless to strive hard to survive in this world if you haven't got any GOOD and WELL reason to live right? If you don't stand for something you'll actually fall for anything and it's so realistic.,. If you really don't believe even a li'l then why confuse yourself too much and ways a single of your time trying to figure out something? Of course for sure its worth it? I know GOD stretch out his arms to reach your heart and by time ever since you are born you experience his love and goodness in you...yet you still refuse to believe coz your mind and heart is close.. just try to open and meditate for a while,..GOD LOVE'S YOU..
